Hey Everyone! Im originally from Michigan. I moved down here near Murfreesboro a couple years ago to escape the harsh winters up north.
A bit about my car and my situation: when I was 20 I bought a 1999 Eclipse GS-T/standard transmission. To this day it still hasnt seen snow since I stored it every winter when I lived in MI. I was in the National Guard and got deployed to Iraq in 2006 and in May of 2007 our patrol vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb. As a result I lost my left eye and lost both legs above the knee which now prevents me from driving my car.
I thought about converting it to auto, Ive thought about looking into all hand controls for a standard, and Ive thought about buying an auto and swapping over the parts that I could. In the time of trying to figure out what to do I started my own family and just dont have time for this anymore. My original goal for the car was to run 11's.
My car hasnt been on the road for a couple years. Ive started it here and there to keep the fluids moving until the battery finally gave up the last time I tried starting it. My buddy and I are going to replace the battery and get it running again this March. We just changed the oil again, I've always used Mobile 1 Full Synthetic. I'm going to sell it as soon as I can, but the place I got my car tuned at in Green Bay, WI was unable to send me a copy of the tune due to HD issues. When I sell it I have a couple options: to find a place down here to tune it or to just get it running decent and allow the new buyer to tune it.
I will gather an updated mods list soon. Since the last time it was worked on and tuned it has only gone about 900 miles on that setup, most of that was the drive from MI to TN when I moved. There is around 70,000 miles on it right now. I still have the car registered in MI because I dont believe it would pass emissions testing down here.
I'd love to find a buyer who can get this car to its potential and take real good care of it. It was my 2nd DSM, only one with a turbo, and well-its my baby. I have greater responsibilities these days and hate to see this car sit. Selling it was a very tough decision to make but I realize that someone else can get more out of it than I can with the situation Im in. Any interest or advice please let me know. Thanks...
