thanks

Make shure to kill all the cats in your neighborhood just to make shure its not a cat jumping on your car.

HEY....! i have the same problem.. but mine goes off every now and then.... and sometimes it goes off every hour or so.... it has come down now but i want to know how to disconnected too..... or fix it whatever..!

my integra had an aftermarket alarm (came with the car when i bought it). its a similar problem, yet slightly different.

my integra's alarm would occasionally go off for no reason, but it would also randomly arm itsself for no reason.

i remember one time driving down the road, pulled into the gas station to fill it up. opened the door to get out, and the alarm starts blazing.

it started to happen more frequently so i disconnected the alarm.

the car is such a s**tbox now that it is its own security system :D

First of all, listen to Malefic DSM, Shoot all the cats in the neighborhood, becuz they do jump on cars. Happened to me.

Second, if you have an aftermarket alarm like me, it goes off becuz of the wind blowing on it. So turn down the sensor if you can find it with a little screw driver. It could be that your sensor is turned up full blast and its too sensitive. Mine was turned up all the way and the wind can set it off, but I turned it down becuz it got annoying after a while.

Hope that helps. David

-Check the door switches and hood switch, for the 1G, the hood switch is mounted on the gutter/fender by the air filter, the hood latch tightness might have shift causing the switch to break continutity, to disable the OEM alarm in a 1G, the controller is located behind the front passenger's right foot kick panel, disconect the harness of the 3"x3" black box.

I had a similar problem. for almost 3 weeks straight my alarm would go off at a specific time during the day. I was beginning to suspect something so I took my buddies jvc camcorder and hid it in nearby bushes. Later that evening we reviewed the tape and lo and behold what do we see??? 2 chipmunks would run down the nearest tree, one ran into the streets as if acting like a lookout and the other ran to my rear tire and started to kick it!!!

heres where it gets weird! that same chipmunk that was kicking my tire looked dead straight in the direction of the hidden cam, gave me the finger and then let out the most obnoxious chipmunk laugh that I EVER heard.

I don't have the alarm problem any more but lately I've been hearing some weird ass tapping on my bedroom window everynight. I'm beginning to suspect its those chipmunks. lousy bastards!!!

i have a viper car alarm with a infared motion sensor mounted in the upper left corner of my windshield....my sh|t would go off all the time for no reason so i adjusted the sensitivity and what not....still kept going off randomly....come to find out, after contacting viper, any loose metal (screw drivers, etc) laying around in your car makes it go off....i had a sh|tload of paper clips, a knife and a bunch of other stuff chillin in my car, i took them out and it worked fine ever since...

The hood sensor is incredibly sensitive on 2gs and can be set off by the wind. To stop the alarm open the hood and look at the front of the engine bay on the drivers side. You will see a rubber piece which has the switch inside of it. Below it there is an electrical connector. Unclip the connector and then your alarm problem should go away. The only bad thing is if someone opens your hood the alarm will not go off.

yeah it is the stock alarm, and i disconnected the " hood sensor " a few days ago and haven't had a problem with it goin off anymore. thanks for everyones input.

..........although i think killing all the kitties and chip munks seemed to be the real solution...............

came outside to get in my car, i see this white blur dash into the bushes, went and got my camera and this is what i came up with. this basterd has been setting off my ALARM!!

Does anyone have the info on how to fully remove the stock alarm from the 2G? Or to permanently disable it. I don't even need the keyless entry to work :) i'm going shaved. I'll get an aftermarket alarm and do all of it's wiring separate but i need the info on how to get the stock alarm out and done with.

Bumping an old thread...
Having the same problem, is this the switch that I unplug? I don't want to mess something up.

So is that the hood switch that is setting it off?

I had this problem and i let a friend try and fix it because he said he could (Bad Idea) and now my car does start on my 1g. So now i have to find a way to re-wire the alarm, I dout anyone was as dumb as i was and let a friend TRY and fix it, but later that day i found out all you have to do on (some) 1g's is pull a fuse and it doesn't affect the car just disables the alarm. Not sure if that works for all years but i know it worked on my cousin's 1990 gsx.
Any suggests on a wire pulled alarm on a 1g?

My car alarm has been going off randomly since I installed a carbon fiber hood. That lil spring looking sensor touches the hood. I placed a glue tab on the hood that presses the hood security sensor down. No issues since.

i got same problem it goes off every time in the morning.. i keep reading about this switch for the hood and to disable it its some were in the seat but does any one got any pics of the switch and the back seat thing i dont want to disconnect something im not supposed to.. mine is a 97 GS-T

I have a question regarding my security system, i believe that i do have the factory alarm system because when i lock my doors the green security light goes on, but it never goes off. I can unlock my door from the inside while its locked and no alarm goes off. It does have keyless entry to, thats why im assuming i have it, is there a possibility mine got turned off and could i turn it back on a certain way?
