Bugati this lambo that well dsm that shizt out of here. Brent Rau was able to do 202 miles per hour in a dsm in a 1/4 mile but I wonder if there is any other top end guys here that could help me out. Post up the some of the highest top end speeds of a modified dsm to show that there precious million dollar cars aint shizt and never will be. Thank you community for the support of my build!

120 in my old 95 GS on an actual closed road. Cops even told me about the road when I got pulled over for not using my blinker LOL. I love living in an unestablished town. 10,000 people in this town and I know just about everyone here haha.

Mike Reichen did like 206 in an EVO in a standing mile....

I personally ran my Talon out to 7100 in 5th gear....estimated 163 mph

Drag strip, 110. Closed course, 120. Afraid to push any further because a buddy of mine hit fuel cut at about 125 in his old 1g, and knocked his nose on the steering wheel. Nearly killed himself. I don't want to push any faster until I know I won't meet a similar fate.

Sent from my Droid Incredible, because I can.

I ran mine into the 8500rpm limiter in 5th with 225/55/16 tires. On an actual private 2 lane desert road.

Not a big fan of high speed dsm driving though. I drove my talon hard, but usually only as fast as it would go in the 1320.

I was thinking the same thing.

Step 1: Denial.

DSMs give a great bang for the buck, but they'll never be a supercar.

no offense to you two but you guys scare the crap out of me. Kind of strange you guys look into that kind of stuff. As for the dsm not being a supercar what is your definition of a super car? A modified dsm can almost go fast as a drag car brent rau and Jason Shepherd proved that. You guys are also definitely over thinking my thread. Just cut it out please

A super car is about exclusivity, fit and finish, engineering, etc.

"It goes fast" is preschool nonsense. We're all DSM enthusiasts here, but some of us are also grounded in reality. Calling a car worth 5k a "supercar" is insulting to Enzo (for one), who's rolling in his grave right now.

My friends dad held a world record in an EVO 9 on a stock ecu he mad 800 HP. That record has now been beat but he was still the first! I think he hit about 165 or so.

Look at some of the videos in YouTube this is what made me want a dsm along with some other things :)
Type evilution on YouTube search bar

A guy in maine did 208 in his tsi awd, Ill see if i can find the video he got kicked off the track it was a top speed run YEARS back .

World's Fastest DSM 208.89 mph! - YouTube

Not that great of a video But ive heard of the car before.

Just want to throw in , stock body 2g no splitters or diffusers.

Doug actually has a FG front end. But if anything, it slowed him down :)

This was all about power and the balls to stay on it at 9500rpms in 5th gear!

Who's Jason Shepherd? LOL

They are definitely not supercars, no matter how you slice it.

If you've never been in something that can be considered a supercar, I could see where you might get confused.

okay LOL you guys really are putting things into my mouth that I did not say. I never said the dsm was a super car I was trying to see some of the top speeds of this car and as for enthusiasts you guys really make me laugh. I could care less about some of the half a million dollar cars. Muscle and tuners all the way.

ALso with the h3ll with the enzo guy in the grave he can turn over and over for all I care.

Yeah if you stop being such a bottom feeder they would be a supercar. Thats the problem you guys dont want to spend a dime on these cars thats fine but dont diss someone because they are enthusiastic about there dsm and they want to make something of it. Also went to the link your the new gothic dsmer WEIRD!!!

If you've never heard of the "Five Stages of Grief" before now, you need to get out more. Glad I could enlighten you. I'm not gothic by any means, and like to think of myself more as a Renaissance Man. Those who refuse to believe knowledge is power are too foolish to see the errors of their ways. Just because I know of something does not mean I embrace it.

As far as not spending a dime on my car, that's quite an asinine comment to be making without meeting me or seeing my car.

And as far as a DSM being a supercar, I guess that depends on your personal views, There's a certain fit and finish that these cars lack, even when they're built to be fast.

208mph in a DSM is fast.

I was in my garage when I did this. LOL
