First off id like to start by saying im newer to DSMs and ive had my 2g talon for about a year now, I bought it in mind that i would want to put in a 6 bolt to avoid crank walk, thus havent really kept up on maitance... The whole point to this thred is to find out why my 7 bolt is preigniting (or whatever els it might be) the reason i think it is pre firing is because anytime i go over about quarter throttle it sputters and looses all power. It acted like this once befor when i changed my plugs and incorectally gaped them. But with this issue i have used 3 diffrent kinds of plugs and played with the gap.
In trying to figure out the problem i have replaced knock sensor, and hooked it up the a scaner and took it for a drive. The scanner said it only retards 4 degrees or somthing and was told that it needed to be alot more than that..
i have also looked over my ecu and all the capasitors look good.
Now here comes the wierd part.. if i Regap my plugs and clear the ecu it changes how bad and when this happens, in a couple instances fixed it completly but on the next start up its back to square one... im lost any ideas??
