had my engine rebuilt and supposedly hot tanked and cleaned. discovered this after pulling some leaking freeze plugs is this just dried coolant or something worse? i hope this doesnt clog up my coolant passages and radiator. any help would be appreciated.

i hope its not the HG cause i havent even started the engine yet to pressureize it yet. found this after I filled car with coolant it began leaking from the freeze plugs. removed plugs and found this i have a email into the shop that built my engine but have not heard anything back from them yet.
 
Well if you haven't started it I'm sure it's not HG. I've seen it under oil caps also on alot of new cars. I work at a dealership.
 
I would think that it would be cleaned if it were hot tanked. Also I would be a little scarred if a freeze plug comes out easily.
