I am looking to upgrade the suspension on my 1990 Talon. Before tackling this project I was hoping I could clear up some questions I still have. I am looking to take the car to the track occasionally but also have a decent daily driver feel. Everything I have read has pointed me toward choosing the GC/Koni combo over any of the available coilovers in my price range. From searching I found this setup as a recommendation: A set of Konis : http://www.extremepsi.com/store/cust...me.php?cat=421, the Ground Control kit: http://www.ground-control-store.com/...hp/II=51/CA=92, and RRE camber plates: Road Race Engineering's Eclipse Suspension Upgrades. Would there be any other parts required with this setup? When reading about other setups people had to fabricate upper mounts and purchase separate bearings. Will there be any similar requirements with this setup? What would be a recommended spring rate? I've read 500/400 front to rear. Also would the brand of springs that come with the GC kit be sufficient? I've also seen some vague information about trimming strut towers. Could anyone provide a clearer explanation. Thanks for any help.

Depending on what you wanna do I would just get some kyb agx struts and some lowering springs if just a dd also do alieghment and camber.I don't like those ground control kits they aren't that great.

I'm looking to have a car that will handle reasonably well in a performance application. Like I said I plan to take the car to track days and I would like to have a car that handles well enough that I won't feel like I'm in the way. That being said my budget is about $1000-1400 and I've read that the GC/Koni kit is far better than the coilovers in that price range. Also as previously mentioned this car will remain my daily driver for the time being so I don't want the ride to be unbearable on regular roads.

the Koni/GC setup seems to be the best budget setup. They no longer make the 1g rear koni yellows, but the 2g rears fit (they're a smidgen shorter, which can be compensated for with the coil-overs)

I agree. They seem to be the choice by most who road race their car on a budget. Thank you for the information on the 2g rears.

You'll love those Koni's.
