I am looking to upgrade the suspension on my 1990 Talon. Before tackling this project I was hoping I could clear up some questions I still have. I am looking to take the car to the track occasionally but also have a decent daily driver feel. Everything I have read has pointed me toward choosing the GC/Koni combo over any of the available coilovers in my price range. Would there be any other parts required with this setup? When reading about other setups people had to fabricate upper mounts and purchase separate bearings. Will there be any similar requirements with this setup? What would be a recommended spring rate? I've read 500/400 front to rear. Also would the brand of springs that come with the GC kit be sufficient? I've also seen some vague information about trimming strut towers. Could anyone provide a clearer explanation.
