for a year now, my brake indicator light(warning light) on my dash board is on all the time.

I haven't repaired it until now because the brakes work fine. My car starts up fine, runs fine and has been doing so for a year with the brake warning light on.

Given that:
my brakes work fine
My hand brake works fine
My alternator is fine
Brake fluid level is fine

What can be the cause?

There is a separate light for the abs system. If it is just the e-brake low fluid indicator light than there is a fault with the switch or sensor in the fluid reservoir. I would check the sensor on the e brake assembly first. That is the most common.

I agree, sounds like the e-brake warning switch being faulty which is located under the center console. Or it could be the low fluid level indicator switch, which is located under the brake fluid reservoir.
