So I got rre's and magnus motor sports 6 bolt swap guide that tells you every thing that needs to be done, any one got any good or bad thoughts on this swap or done this swap, i see alot of posts about it but never see any final results. I bought a 97 gst, the motor crank walked, bought the car for 500 mucks body in good shape minus the front core support which I have a new one I am installing this week after I tear the motor out. Heres what I got,

complete 6 bolt motor out of a 90 eagle talon
forged internals in the block
bored .20 over
balance shaft eliminator kit already installed
acl race bearings
arp head studs
arp main and rod bolts
toga oil pump
lighten crank pully

If any one can tell me anything about this swap from experience I would really like to hear them. I have the plug and play harness on the way that I need for the cas. Shoot me some thoughts, I will start posting pics of whats going on with the progress I make starting with the cylinder head refresh. Hope to hear some comments soon.

Why do you feel you need to get a High volume Oil pump when a OEM one is perfectly fine?

you will end up needing to swap plug wire order because of the 2g ecu and 1g motor, i would micropolish your crank and do any other machining possible while you got the motor out...

i 2nd raptor on the OEM pump, you dont need anything other then that.. people are running 700 hp on stock oil pump i wish i got the plug and play CAS harness. i ended up soldering mine but ill probably go that route also. just make sure you have somethign to tune. dsmlink is very neccessary.

you should probably start a build thread if thats what you goin for.

if you are looking for a local shop. ground vision performance in south seattle are amazing. full service DSM/evo shop

If I remember correctly, the firing order does not change because of the ecu, but rather the CAS. So if yours is a '90, make sure your firing order is for a '90 Cam Angle Sensor.

Also, the drivers side motor mount will need to be modified in order to fit.

And you will need to rewire parts of the CAS because there is no longer a Crank angle sensor, just a cam angle sensor.

There are some other smaller things, that are easier to tackle but nothing major.

You might call David if you need some of those parts, if he does not have it in his inventory he can most likely source it.
He's also ton tons of 6 bolt swaps, i'm sure he'd be willing to give you a hand.

There's also a huge meet happening on march 3rd, check it out!

just to clarify, I pulled this motor out of my 90 talon tsi, got hit in the back totaled the car. Everything was done to the motor by the previous owner, I bought it back in 06, got rearended and it sat in my moms garage in idaho for a few years, I started it once a week of course to keep it in good shape, the motor rebuild only had approx. 12-14000 miles on it. I am doing a cleanup and re gasketing the entire motor, also waiting on new head studs, any one know where I could find arp kits around the seattle area that would have them instock let me know asap.

Andre (Pina) may still have another set in stock. Tell him David from BOSS referred you. My shop is in Tacoma, and I just sold my last set.
