If I start my car then turn it off and remove the key it will continue to run untill the 10a room lamp fuse is pulled. The 10a fuse is located in the engine bay fuse box in the I.o.d. with the 10a radio fuse. What is odd is the slot for the room lamp fuse always has power to one side with the fuse out and the radio fuse has no power to both sides with fuse out. Now when I turn the key to acc the room lamp fuse has power at both sides with fuse out untill the radio fuse is pulled which then I get power to only one side of both radio and room lamp fuse with both fuses out. Now if I turn the key to the on position I get power to both sides of both room lamp and radio fuse with both fuses out. Did this when I got the car as stock. Only thing it had not stock was an alarm that I removed and didn't help. Any ideas on where to start looking?

What sort of alarm was in there and does it/did it have a turbo timer?

There was never a turbo timer and the alarm was a name brand but forget what it was.

You pulled everything out correct? Are you positive everything got hooked up back to where it was all to go and you didn't mix up wires?

Everything went back where it was and didn't think it was the alarm as it did it before the alarm was removed but I gues it could have been installed wrong, looked pro installed. If you think it is likely that could be the cause I will check into it later.

I honestly don't know what it could be, I'm just trying to see if something screwy could have happened during the install or removal. Until someone with more electronic knowledge comes in, I'm going to be done with this as I have nothing else to give/ask.

Well I found the problem. It ended up being the previous owner installed a new power antenna and messed up the wiring. Disconnected the wires and all works as it should. Of coarse in my attempt to find it I worked from front to back so a lot more got taken apart then needed. Thanks for getting me looking, very happy now!.

Im running into the same issues with my 95 gsx. also when i had my 97 gs it did the same thing. i havent figured out what it was/is. but from what i have seen and read it is a very common thing. ive already rulled out the ignition switch. any other pointers would be nice

my friends old toyota corolla, you could start the car, pull the key out, and lock the door. The engine would stay running. And when he wanted to turn it off, just put the key in, and turn the ignition off. LOL
