"Macintosh DSMLink beta
Thanks for your interest in testing the Macintosh DSMLink client.
This is a fully functional DSMLink client, built from version 2.5.2.16 source. It is a Universal Binary, and will run on both PowerPC and Intel architectures, and is compatible with both 1G and 2G ECUs. The current beta version is 0.7b. Download the current beta (1.4MB)

Note that this program is not supported by ECMTuning. If you have any problems, concerns or questions, either post in the Macintosh Beta forum thread, or email me at [email protected]. Do not email Thomas or Dave with technical queries about this package.

Prior to installing the software, please read the README-Mac-DSMLink.txt file bundled with the package. Installation is straightforward - just drag the program to your hard drive.

Note that if you are using this program to communicate with a 1G ECU, you MUST be running MacOS 10.4 (Tiger) or higher. If you are running a 2G, any MacOS 10.1 or better will work.

The bulk of the changes I made were to the areas that deal with ECU communication. As such, please focus your attention appropriately. I appreciate any and all feedback.

The testing will run for two weeks following the release of the final beta. If any issues are found, a new beta will be issued, followed by two weeks of testing. At the conclusion of testing, the final release will be made and available for download through the regular channels.

Once again, if you have any questions or issues, please contact me at [email protected]."

Hey guys, someone just brought this thread to my attention.

As FORMONTOYA mentioned, there is a Mac version of DSMLink available.
It is basically something I did in my spare time, and it is *not* officially
supported by ECMTuning. That being said, there are a number of us
running it on our Macs without any problems. I actually prefer it to the
PC version (but I'm a Mac snob...)

There are some limitations if you are using it with a 1g - basically
you must be running OS 10.4 (Tiger) or higher - and a few other
little nit-picky things, but no showstoppers.

If you have any specific questions you can direct them to me at
[email protected].

Thanks,

Matt

Ok well I am unable to register on dsmlink to ask or search for answers to this question, so I would appreciate a little more detail on how to install link onto a mac. I've got a macbook os x and I can't say I'm very fond of it so far. Anyways I've downloaded most of the different files from the download screen on dsmlink and everything just shows up as a .txt. What am I doing wrong? I've tried using stuffit expander and it just says the files are not compressed. Any ideas?

OK, I have the latest version of the ecm link MAC OS software and when I open the program the loading image with the evo shows then the program closes down with no errors, anyone else experiencing this or know the fix?
