2003 yields Evo 8.
$15k for a 9 year old car with 130k miles AND a blown motor?

Pfft, wow.

He did say he still owes money, so I don't think he'll drop the price by a lot.

First off, pretty sure 2003 is an Evo 8 not a 9.

Can't tell from the pics without an interior shot if this is the SSL package, but I do think I see a sunroof, and he mentions black interior so could be leather interior, and all that jazz. I would offer $8-$10k. These are notorious for the clear coat issues with the wing and I am not digging the red grills and under the hood mural.

Also no MIVEC. Wasn't sure if you had your hopes set on that.

....You'd be better off buying the hard to find yellow Evo 8 from STM for $16,000.

I would not go over 8K on any 03 Evo with a blown motor, especially at that mileage. A buddy of mine bought one for 10K, it had some basic issues but nothing like a blown motor. Lower miles too.

15K is retarded. 10K is still considerably over priced IMO.

$15K is way too much for such a high mileage and a blown engine. It is definitely an EVO 8 if it is a 2003. However, the front bumper is from an EVO 9. Since the bumper have been replaced and the engine is blown, you should stay away from it. As mentioned above, you can get a good EVO 8 at the asked price. I feel sorry for the guy still owing money for his car but it is not reason to ask people to "bail" him out.

Hard to tell from the pics whether or not the body is in good condition overlooking the painted grill and hood. If its the SSL, $10k would still be a good price if the interior and exterior are mint and what mods are on it. Defi gauges are not cheap that's $600 or so by itself. Of course $8k would be better.

I paid just under 13k for my 2006 "evo 9" MR, it did have a salvage title and needed a turbo. Im not sure but in 03 i dont think they offered a ssl package. And that bumber looks like a knock off 9.

Im not at all inexperienced with this stuff. Im ready to build an evo, im not worried about having mivec, or any of that. And id LOVE the stm evo, but its literally across the country from me.

Whichever evo i end up with will likely get rebuilt, from head to toe. Doesnt matter running or not, while running would be fun for a while, not that bad to build one.

If this were a DSM and someone were asking me, id tell them "if you want a project, its perfect" Im well aware its been beat (obviously). None of that matters for me, as ill be going through the entire thing anyway.

If you really want to rebuild it , make sure it has not been involved in an accident. Inspect it and give him a the blue book average price less the engine ( around 2.5k to 3.0K). But I would think you can find an EVO 8 with high mileage but in running condition for the price he is asking for.

I found a 03 evo for 7500 with a blown motor. found a motor for 2grand. The car itself only had 75k on it. 15000 seems way to high, hell you can get an 06 for that price.

06 is the only year that a IX was made. IX's go for anywhere between 18k-27k. and a 03-05 Evo VIII's can be had from 13K(ive seen them running for this)---> 17K. 15k for a blown evo is a laugh and if you buy it, you deserve to be ripped off.

About four years ago I almost got a 2003 Evo 8 for 13k, with 66,000 miles and was tuned by AMS. The only reason I didn't get the Evo was because I had to move the next day and he didn't tell me that the title was in Daytona Beach where he bought the car. He was going to have it over nighted by Grandma, but I just couldn't come back at all the next day:sosad:

BTW, you can find 2004 STIs all day for around 13k-15k with around 100k miles if you wanted to go that route. Personally I don't like the STI, but it's your choice and I thought I'd let you know.

Like mentioned already, 15k is ridiculous for a car with a blown engine. The prices of EVO's have been coming down lately, so you could find one running for that price.

I just read the add....LOL at trying to pass his debt on. Just because he's upside down doesn't mean the car is worth 15K LOL. Have fun making payments on your new lawn ornament, buddy.

I am selling my 2003 LY Evo 8 for $11,800. Just an intake & exhaust, otherwise all stock and not molested/beat. PM me if interested.
