Im needing to get a lower payment. I loved my old 2G. I found a 2G at a car lot. I was looking at the pictures and had some questions. Whats up with the interior? It appears the manifold has an external wastegate, what kind is it? What kind of BOV is that? It has a 95-96 front bumper on it for some reason and is missing the cap but I have to trade my car in on something. Im wondering if you guys had a few thoughts on this car or maybe you owned it. Let me know whats up Thanks guys!

Def flood damage on the carpet.once the leather seats dried out they probably all split up,and the front bumper was destroyed when the flatbed pulled it out of the mud!

hahaha... that car might be worth the money of a project car, not a dd.
2000 tops. and thats if it still runs after you drive the piss out of it during the test drive.
6500 buy a car from the south and ship it to your house.

I might be mistaken but if it was a flood car and the previous owner never claimed/reported it then it wouldn't show up on a carfax report right? This looks like another hack job DSM to me. I would run far away from this car especially for that asking price. There are way too many things that are fishy about this car.

Be careful, i was looking at cars in my area and i had found a car that interested me, the dealer told me the car was like new 65k miles on it and he wanted 8k for it. i told the guy i would come back in a few days and let him know if i still wanted the car. ( the interior was falling apart and it was not an old car, also the car was re painted ( new hood, fender, door and a few other things)) He also said it was clean and that there was no accidents and he could not get a car fax for me. The car is still on his lot, he said to me he had it for a bout 2 weeks before i looked at it, it is still there after 8 months. So dont rush on it, take your time, the price will drop or some other unlucky person will jump on it and wish they did not pay his price. things will work out, keep your eyes open for good deals, IMHO this is worth the price of scrap metal.

DON'T DO IT!!!! It's a flood car! And it has a 95-96 front end which means that it was most ikely in an accident. It has CRAP seats and painted door panels. Plus, that looks like the original timing belt with 89,000 miles on it. You'll have electrical problems for life. Again, DO NOT pay full price for this. The most i'd pay is 1700-2000 and the only reason is because it's a GSX. You can find much cleaner DSMs out there.. For instance, I'm selling my Talon! It's super clean, message me for details :)

I would also see if the cig lighter works. That battery looks recently replaced, I would check the current draw with key off (thinking flood+electrical-IDK the spec though) I'd bet the instrument cluster has been replaced so the carfax would be jacked up, mileage wise (thats what happened to me when I bought mine)

Sorta same story here, I been sorting out and checking everything on this 97 GSX I bought a few months ago. Luckily, I'm only the third owner, and the first owner must have been from tuners because any mod on the car has been documented here on the forums.

What I'm getting at is, it doesn't look like anyone from tuners touched that car and if you buy it, you might have a hard time figuring out WTH they did to this, that, etc.

From my point of view, I know if I ever sold my GSX, I would probably get rid of it here, because the buyer (DSMer) KNOWS and CAN FIND INFORMATION on what I did to the car....and with that car I just don't think you would get far before you'd have to completely redo some shotty modification. ....2 cents

Pretty 'tarded they went to the trouble of replacing all the flooded interior EXCEPT the carpet. I think I see a piece of house carpet on the drivers floor...:p

*On a sidenote, does anyone know what turbo that might be, it's funny because the WG is on opposite side with the OEM heatshield still in-tact?

The more I think about this the more I would run far away from a modded/hacked DSM from a dealer. I'm sure he has no clue about the history of it(or about DSM"s in general) and for someone to trade a modded DSM into to a dealership probly means he didn't know much about them or something was really wrong with it and didn't want the hassle of selling it himself. I'm sure this dealer probly paid less than half of his asking price for it as well. This is just my opinion of course LOL. I say wait for something else but either way I wish you luck.
