You will need to know if it will bolt up, just depends on the flange. I have a 50 trim on my talon, you just need to make sure the hot side has the correct flange and the correct O2 housing flange too.

There are no Garrett-based DSM bolt-on eBay turbos in existence.

When you weigh the options, the eBay junk requires a different manifold, external gate, different oil lines, and a custom o2 housing where using a 14B or 16G would be a reliable direct-fit upgrade that you can find here in the classifieds for $250-$300 in good used condition. The 14B or 16G will fit your car using the existing oil drain and coolant lines, and only require the purchase of an oil supply line and some sort of j-pipe system.

Just, he could find an old PTE SCM 50 trim on there I would think. I found mine here in the classifieds. But for his question, yes a 50 trim can bolt up, but he will need different things than stock. Like a intercooler pipe kit, and oil feed and return lines. But isnt that to be expected with an upgraded turbo?

Technically a PTE SCM5031E, a SBR G50, or any of the other direct bolt-on T04E50 upgrade turbos available for DSM's will indeed bolt right up and work with the purchase of an oil supply and oil drain line.

Referring to his initial question regarding the fitment of the eBay turbo- the eBay T04E knockoffs use a turbine wheel that will not directly fit in place of a true Garrett T31, so none of the SBR G50 or PTE SCM5031E turbine housings will fit the eBay turbos. You're stuck using whatever turbine housing came on the turbo, which is normally T3-flanged on the inlet and standard 5-bolt Garrett on the outlet. This can present a challenge when trying to fit one of these junkers in place of a factory T25 or 14B.

Just depends what he's looking to spend....and based on his initial question, I'm guessing that the budget is not plentiful. :D

Yeah, I have the 5031E in my car now. I needed to replace a turbo that was overboosting due to to small of a wastegate on my 13b for my exhaust. Until I get my intercooler pipes bead rolled my boost levels will be staying stock (14-15psi) but its boosting quite well right now. I do agree that it seems someone is trying to something on the cheap, and a turbo system is def not where you want to cheap out. I for see an ebay special and lots of why is my exhaust leaking, why is my turbo smoking, and why wont this fit questions.

To the OP, dont cheap out on a turbo setup. If you go with the no name ones on ebay, you may as well flip a coin as to the health of your car. Some people have OK experience with them, but far more have major issues. The manifolds crack at the welds (on the tubular mani's) and the turbo's center cartridge fail on epic levels. And if the cold side fails, you can destroy an engine, if the hot side fails, I have seen them destroy exhausts and other parts. Save up and do it right, I think most people here would agree.
