I all ways wanted an eclipse and i got my talon for $1000 and there was no eclipse for sale that i liked i have the 2g back bumper with the back up lights that look like circles and tail lights that's it but i don't know if i need new bulbs/ wires stuff never did this before and i just don't like the talon look ya i bought a talon but i bought it because it was 1000 and awd turbo and there was no good eclipse LOL and i spent lots of time trying to make it good with out the eclipse but i just want it to be an eclipse. and don't want to sell it or trade it because everything down here is all like body kits so on... + i put so much time and $ into this one that its like i can't get rid of it its my 1st car.:thumb:

Talons are much sexier and rarer. Just be happy that you own the better model LOL. I do like the eclipse look but it is a hassle to do the swap. Its not as easy as people make it seem. You do have to modify the brackets a little to get bolts to line up.

You need a rear bumper and the three piece light section.

I am not sure if the bulbs are compatible but superbrightleds.com says that they are.

Look at the talon ones for what bulb does what.
Remember that information.

Install the parts
Plug in the bulbs in the correct places.
Rewire as necessary.

There is also a how to on rewiring the whole rear section of the car for the conversion as well as how to light the center section.

I did the eclipse conversion on my 96 talon too, the biggest pain was drilling out the spot welds in the factory bumper brackets to move I believe it was about 2 1/2-3 in higher and then for the center piece you have to measure how far down to drill the bottom holes for the studs. I have just recently be informed that I do not have brake lights, I have all other lights, so I am not sure if the wiring is differently but after work today I have to do some testing in the wires. I already checked my stoplight switch, fuses and bulbs(put all new bulbs in), so if the wiring is different hopefully I will find out today and I will let you know.

There is one plug on the tail light assembly, you un plug the talon light, and plug it into the eclipse light. I've done a few conversions and it was just a plug and play with the lights. As stated the middle bracket will have to be raised, and you will have to wire in the reverse lights, other than that it is pretty straight forward.

were can i get the new lights ? i have the back bumper and the light lenses not the bulbs or wires or anything else that's all i really need.:D

Yes that is true that there is only one plug but the Eclipse uses a 3 pin plug and the talon uses a 5 pin plug. So it is not a simple plug and go, you will have to do a little cutting and reconnecting. And of course I dont have the paper with me on the colors and all that I did so as soon as I get off work later today I will post it with pictures if at all possible. The only problem is that the turn signals flash faster than oem but everything else works perfect.

The plug is the same on both, the difference is the amount of wires in the harness. IT is because the reverse lights are in the lights on the talon and in the bumper on the eclipse. You just have to cut the reverse light wires from the plug and wire them into the reverse lights on the bumper as i stated in my earlier post. The plugs DO in fact plug plug right in.

While the existing thread on converting Talons to Eclipses has a lot of good information, you might also consider trying to find out who did Kim Kardashian's buttocks surgery, since the effect is quite similar.

Does anybody know what wires connect to what? I need my reverse lights done tomorrow.
