Remove the old brackets pictured above, drop the new bolts thought (will require cutting into it)bolts dropped through picture above, each put a nut on the bolt once drop through so it doesn't spin when you try to tight it or leave the holes in the body and put a socket wrench on both sides and tightn them down

correct. The wholes exist... but the access to put bolts dont and you just have to cut a little

Yes, 6 bolts total. - 4 12mm head ones, and 2 10mm head nuts.

Did everyone else enjoy the moment you changed your car to "9* Eclipse GST (AWD swap)" in your user profile. I felt victorious music playing.

I didn't have that option when I did the AWD swap... Thats when I PM'd Ludachris and asked if he'd add it in there and then, when I selected "Eclipse GST (AWD swap)," I heard the music.

:dsm:

Here's a video of the issue that has been around since the swap...

Please advise!

Thats whats happening. The rear diff is not welded though, its an LSD rear though.

Don't know. It was a engine-less shell. During the swap I pulled the diff cover and it looked brand new. No weld marks. I was thinking center diff? But I dont know anything about AWD, or Auto DSMs. Just what I've learned during and after this swap.

Need opinions ,so I just started the car up just after finishing the swap,it's still on jack stands though.but when I give it gas it bogs and the speedometer doesn't hardly go up then it reads as far as it can ?could be the speed sensor causing this? I'll post a vid here in a few, thanks in advance.

Is your e-brake still on? LOL

If the speedometer is acting funky, and it worked before, its definitely the speedo gear or sensor you installed with it. What year of DSM is transmission from and where did you get the speedo gear for it (year trans, etc.)?

:dsm:

Well at first I had the back rotors and brakes on but the rotors were warped so I pulled them off.the ebrake may need adjustments.its the same gear I had it in before and it worked fine,my car is a 95 and all the parts came off a 95.everything matches with the Fannie and splines ect.

But I don't think it would need adjusting if the rotors and brakes are off

Here are the different gear P/N's relative to the model year/drivetrain they're used with, not sure if you went A/T to M/T or not.

AWD M/T 95-96: MD746492

AWD A/T 95-96: MD757055

AWD M/T 97-99: MD749150

AWD A/T 97-99: MD760150

FWD M/T 95-99: MD746492

FWD A/T 95-99: MD757055

I mentioned the ebrake being engaged because I was breaking in my new Shep trans with the car up on jack stands and it kept bogging and dieing. After 10 or so attempts to get it going I realized I had the ebrake up... :ohdamn:

:dsm:

It was already m/t ,so the part number for the awd and fwd gear are the same,I'm stumped on why it's acting funny ,i went thought the gears and everything's butter no binding, grinding ect.i know I lost my tune because my battery went dead and im still v 2.

Did you use a shady VSS bolt? I noticed in the past that if I'd use just any 10mm bolt back there on the VSS it wouldn't work right. Its got to have a washer on it to distribute the pressure across the sensor a bit more evenly, if not its got some play and won't work right.

The bogging is probably tune related then, nothing that can't be fixed with a few slider changes. ;)

:dsm:

also, the skippy jerky tightness in the car in tight turning can be a bad alignment, when i first did my swap the car drove great but the alignment was still off on the toe from raising it up with GSX suspension (struts and springs) so although the car tracked decent in a straight line mine did that too untill i setup a set of poles and strings and did a race-track style alignment on it and now it's fine but i swore i had a wiped out center diff or rear diff at first

Vss? Also when I put it into 4th and 5th gear it sounds like the right cv axle is making a chatting noise like its stalling out, would that be do to the car being on stands and not having the speed/momentum while in higher gears? Also I ment to say its the rpm that is acting funkey and giving me false readings

If its the RPM acting funny then its not drivetrain related, the tach gets its signal from the IPT (ignition power transistor).

Double check all the suspension bolts are tight and nothings missing, put it down on its wheels and go drive it around the block.

Why are you going into 4th and 5th gear up on jack-stands?

:dsm:

Ill double check.i torqued everything to spec and doubled checked.i have it on stands because I need new rotors .and I went thought the gears to insure everything is good and nothing is binding.
