Cape Girardeau,
Missouri
Hey everybody! If you hate reading a lot, this thread might not be for you. I've been around this site, but never posted an intro. Im John, most people know me as the guy singing with a redneck voice about DSMs (youtube "My DSM song" if you don't know what I'm talking about hah.) I was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, MO. I just turned 25. I went to high school at Saxony Lutheran High School class of 05. I graduated Southeast Missouri State University with a BA in communication studies degree in the spring of 10. I got a job right out of college however I am not at liberty to discuss any details of my profession. (Lets just say I work for the BLAH. BLAH. BLAH. and they gave me a license to BLAH.) I bought a house and also got married in the summer of 2010. Im also a new father, as my wife and I just had a baby girl. Yee haw.
I love cars but my number one passion and hobby in life is music. Ive been playing drum set for over 10 years and giving lessons for over 5 years. I also know how to play bass and guitar and love composing/recording all kinds of music in my home recording studio. Im hoping someday to be a one hit wonder in hopes I will make plenty of money to feed my car addiction, yet not have to put up with being famous. I also like working out, doing Judo, and playing sports- mainly basketball and flag football in Capes city leagues. Lastly, and most important: Im a Christian conservative so if you havent read John 3:16, go for it. Jesus is the Man. Tim Tebow is the man. Ronald Reagan is the man. The right to carry arms is the man. Freedom of religion is the man. Freedom of speech is the man. Having a strong military to defend said freedoms is the man. Low taxes is the man. Capitalism is the man. And democracy is the man, man!
There. Now I feel like you know me. But enough about me. What about my car? I own a 5 speed 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX with 77,xxx miles. I havent done anything to the exterior of the vehicle as sleeper looking cars tickle my fancy. These cars come very corked up with a super restrictive exhaust and a teeny-tiny pretend turbo out of the factory. So thankfully, my modifications include: K&N FPIK air filter, 4" Forced Performance intake pipe, 1g bov, MHI 16G turbo, SS atmospheric dump 02 housing, Megan 3" SS turboback, SS tubular exhaust manifold, punishment racing SMIC hard piping, Apexi boost controller, ACT 2100 clutch, HKS fuel pump, 17x8 Eagle F1 tires, CCS rims, Eibach springs, KYB struts, front upper strut bar, and rear upper X-brace strut bar. Ive gone about as far as I want to go with bolt-ons, so now Im about to get started with fuel support and tuning with ECMLink.
I really love AWD DSMs. The way they launch. The way they accelerate. They way they handle. And the virtually limitless potential they have as far as power and handling. They are a very versatile automobile. Im not so hardcore in my love for DSMs that I hate on other cars, though. Forget the Tuner vs Muscle thing, I love anything thats fast period. However I cant stand ricers OR people with V8 syndrome. Therefore, people think I hate Hondas and muscle cars, but in fact I love Hondas if they are done right, and I love muscle cars if the owner doesnt suck and appreciates other forms of fast.
Ive been to Sikeston drag strip once and ran an 8.9 @ 78mph when I was nearly stock and on low boost. I have done quite a bit to my car since then and hope to go back someday after a good tune, as I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, my favorite time spent in my car is cruising country roads in Cape and Jackson and enjoying a 5-speed AWD around the corners.
It is nice to be a part of your fine website. Hope to make friends with you all. Go to my profile for more pics! God Bless. -John
