okay well there is this 1995 dsm on craigslist for 2500 dollars and i need to know weather or not this is a good deal? I am currently 17 years old and i do not know one thing about cars he said that everything is great and he has some extra parts such as front strut bar, aftermarket steering wheel, fog lights, however he does say that it needs transmission mounts? is this a bad deal or goood deal. paint and interrior are great seller says this is a good reliable car is this a good first car for me or not? Please help.

okay sounds good well ill probably have to do that tomorow its a little late to text him, and when i talk to him tomorow do i just post on this same thread or how do i do this?

Who cares about mods at this point, the seller hasn't even told you anything worth reading about the car. Thats great its a '95 Eagle Talon, knowing the model comes into play when you start negotiating prices though. Is it a ESi, Tsi or TSi AWD?
You'll also want to know how many miles are on it and ask the seller to take pictures of the engine bay, interior (front, back, and trunk), and all 4 sides of the exterior. If anything has been done to the car, maintenance or modifications, ask for receipts because as far as I'm concerned if they don't have a receipt for that $800 timing belt job they paid the mechanic to do then it never happened.

Post in the same thread, just like you are now to reply.

okay sounds good gofer ill definately get back to you thanks. well ill reply to you guys tomorow and let you guys know whats up and again thanks. Now its time to play some COD.

Did anybody notice he said "ill trade for a civic". Usually "not all of them" honda owners treat there vehicles like crap and drive them hard. I would very much look it over. But i do like the black on black. But knowing if its just esi, tsi, or tsi awd will help us out alot.

not a bad lookin car but the mod nailed it on the head. 2500 prob not a tsi kinda cheap and if it is somethings wrong with it im sure. keep lookin too. craigslist is pretty cool but gotta be careful with what your buyin and whos sellin it to you. good luck to you bro

I checked this car before it wouldnt load the page at work but its n/a w/ high miles.Price is ok for the shell is clean but i dunno about anything else. But maybe do some more looking you should find some better deals out there.Even tho my car is a fwd auto. I payed $3,000 for it with only 80 original miles from original owner. So I would personally keep looking, non the less it is a clean car that you found.

I wouldnt pay 2500 for a n/t.

You couldn't give me a n/t Dsm.

Seriously though you need to follow everyone's advise and check the car out in person. If it really is a n/t don't even consider getting it unless that thing is mint. Because without the looks/reliability a n/t Dsm is truely worthless.

Okay so im going to text that Eagle talon guy can someone please tell me what to say andd ask give me a detailed message and ill post what he txts me and ill put what you put. it will be as if your texting him yourself.

Ask him
1. What model exactly is it (esi tsi or Tsi awd
2.the modifications and miles on the car.
I'm 17 myself and just started getting into cars about a year ago I'm working on turboing my n/t 93 eclipse should be good :)

i was texting him yesterday and he said it has 132000 miles on it. i just texted him now and asked him what model it was and what modifications are done to it.

You could buy mine, I'll drive it out to you, he's old and northern, but I think I need to let go of mine for once. Mine is all stock, just needs TLC like his. I wouldn't sell it to you if you have no plans to modify it or replace parts yourself (it's a bit to old for a 17yr old to deal with).

But yes, scrutinze the car before you make a purchase.

okay he says this " ESI lowered short shifter intake exhaust and i got some headers i havent put on and aftermarket steering wheel."

what do i ask him next?

hah im serious so you dont think this dsm is a good one? or just not worth 2500 dollars.

I just almost bought a 90 awd for 1000$ with 105k miles...So a 95 non turbo for 2500$..Is this guy high?

If it has low miles maybe a grand..But I would not write a 2500$ check on a 95 420a..

alrite well then what would be a reasonable offer i dont want this guy to think that im insulting him if i offer him five hundred dollars.
