Sup guys im new to the dam scene I own a gat n for some reason when I step on it and start boosting at hi rpms the car starts smoking white smoke all I think it is that I might need a new turbo or rebuilt the one I have.need help before I take it to a shop

I ment gst(damm spell check)

White smoke sounds like coolant burning. Have you ran a compression test or a leakdown test?

Please use proper spelling and grammar as per the forum rules. I was getting confused on what you had typed.

If its white smoke its coolant there for not the turbo most likely a head gasket. Are you sure its not tinted blue. If it is tinted blue it might not be the turbo, it could be rings. Do a compression check or leak down test and that will tell you if its the turbo or something else.

forget the rings i just realized you said under boost at high rpms.

Thanks guys and sorry for the spelling im doing this using my phone and it has that spell check. I just forgot to go back n spell the dsm and gst words.

I doubt its a head gasket because the car does not over heat on me.but how will I go about with the leak down test.

Sorry I just notice I dirent mentioned that it smokes from the exhaust. Maybe its the same thing sorry I don't really know anything about this engines.( all I know is honda)

I just bought the car a lil more then a month ago so I don't know what the guy had replace on it sorry.

it is very difficult to tell if there is a blue hue to the smoke when driving. if it only happens under boost most likely it is the turbo seals allowing oil to seap past them. is there oil in your intake also?

LOL the first post was funny. i own a gat. anyways since your in hemet there are a lot of dsm guys out there.
IEDSM.com • Index page or go to ladsm.com i'm pretty sure one of those guys are willing to help you out diagnose your problem. it would be helpful if you post a video

I check n there's a lil bit of oil but no shaft play.

Could be the valve seals. Mine does it at idle and under high boost. I know its my seals because I see oil seepage from the manifold.

Bad headgaskets don't always meen it will over heat. Do a coolant system pressure test as well to be sure if possible.

I notice some oil leaking. By the turbo on the floor u think this might be one if the problems.

Probably a leaking drain tube for the turbo. It's a very common problem. Buy a new set of gaskets and some black rtv with your next oil change supplies. Gaskets are really cheap for OEM ones.

That's not what's causing your smoke out of the muffler. That's something internal unless its spraying on the exhaust piping and trailing the smoke out the rear of the car. It could be bad valve seals, but again you said it was white smoke, and that leads me to think coolant. Have you pressure tested the cooling system and done a leakdown test?
