I did a 6 bolt swap i have a new black top cas and harness from road race and i swapped the spark plug wires and when im driving some times i get a miss fire like it just bogs out and starts stalling and ill have to shut the car off and restart it and im tired of it is there any way to fix this ??? i got it scanned and it says miss fire and i don't know what it is miss fire on can some one please help ?? i have a 6 bolt short block and 7 bolt head thanks.:aha:

Do you have link? If so you can go in and turn off "Random Misfire"

You cannot Perminately get rid of the problem without link, you just have to restart it a lot. When you go to the 6 bolt, those sensors are under the impression there is a
Misfire when it checks for it, but with link they have a switch that eliminates that problem. You could get a code reader to clear it whenever it comes on...

You actually can get rid of it with the 10k potentiometer mod, i've done it many times, along with many other dsm owners.

i have my spark plugs in right just do i need to do the ingector wires two ?? i am going to look at that "mod" because i do not have link and it does miss fire a lot and on the free way it does it more and more

that post is so detailed thank you i am going to try it when i go up to my brothers shop i had to park it for this winter because my wipers dont work for some odd reason ! but thank you really !

hey i am having the same issue, but i have link, v3 full. i read the link above and there should be another way. i have made adjustments on link to combat this from happening but with no luck. before i had link ( still using the stock ECU) it would only misfire once and awhile and once it did i would just let off the throttle and press the clutch all the way in and it would go away. but with link it wont go away. it just stays. could it be a possable boost leak? i have stock injectors (450cc) 2g head on a 6 bolt motor. just replaced the O2 sensor and spark plugs. my misfire is only in the third cylinder.

so here is what i found out. i went in to link and when to config ecu then dct and turned off the random misfire scan and the cat/o2 scan the car runs amazing right now. no misfire. no cel its amazing. so if you are having issues give that a try. like i stated before i have a bolt motor with a 7bolt head. also make sure you have selected the non 95-96 head in the ecu config area. also you just reverse the fire order. well this is what works for me. if anyone has questions hit me up.
