Here's the story: recently my car was running on three cylinders because one of my injectors was completely clogged; after inspecting them I discovered my fuel rail was filled with crap, too. I have replaced my nasty fuel injectors with new Venom ones and now I'm looking for a new fuel rail because it is beyond salvation. A friend said if I put my foot to the floor more often, gunk that is in it will be forced through the brand new injectors, but I can't just go speeding around everywhere; I live in a commuter area with lots of traffic, so I'd rather just buy a new fuel rail than risk ruining my new injectors. There was a Venom one I wanted but no online retailer seems to stock it, and I just bought an AEM high-flow one from Summit Racing because they said it would work for the GS, but on the actual box it says 4G63! So I'm returning it for a refund. As a last resort I checked eBay and found this fuel rail: Mitsubishi Eclipse RS/GS Fuel Rail 420A RMR-063 | eBay
And also this one from OBX Racing: OBX Fuel Rail 95-99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Non-Turbo RS GS | eBay

I'd really like to know if these are decent fuel rails (as in, reputable sellers) or something I shouldn't waste money on. If anyone has had a similar problem to mine, please tell me how you solved it. And before you mention it, yes, I am replacing the fuel filter.

You should be able to get the gunk out of the fuel rail.

1) Save money in bank
2) Take fuel rail completely out of the car, leave behind fpr
3) Take injectors out
4) Spray with brake/carb cleaner
5) Use a "nylon bendy spiral brush", (similar to ones in gun cleaning kit), to clean off any stuck on crap in hard to spray areas
6) Re-install
7) Enjoy

Also might want to take a look at the fpr, it may have some gunk in it as well - use step 4 from above to clean.

I forgot to mention that the fuel rail did get a parts cleaner treatment as in it was basically pressure washed (cleaning fluid forced through it). I would really rather just buy a new better one for a hundred bucks. And yes I am planning on a few upgrades such as cold air intake and new exhaust, etc. The inside of the fuel rail is also corroded which I noticed while examining it with a flashlight. It's just... ugly. And I don't want it to ruin my injectors.

Don't listen to your friend, injectors have small filters in the tops that won't let small particles enter the injector, let alone pass through it.

The OBX one looks weird to me, though, like it's just a rectangle of aluminum. On the other one you can at least see where the bolts go. And, I asked the OBX seller if it included all the necessary hardware, and he said "what you see is what you get". So that's not a good sign to me... sellers should always know their product.

I think I will just buy the one from "Ross Machine Racing" and hope it works. I have already returned two fuel rails so the third time should be the charm!

I appreciate you guys offering me the simple solution of cleaning out the stock fuel rail but if you saw it in person, I think you would want to throw it away like I do. I'm so paranoid that the bits coming off the inside of it will clog my brand new *expensive* injectors!

Well, I'm just going to go ahead and rain on your parade. There are like 7 threads on here about how terrible the quality of OBX fuel rails are due to fitment.

I said I was NOT going to purchase the OBX one ;)
