I bought a 95 Talon TSI with a 6 bolt swap.. WITH a 255 pump, and 550 injectors with NO tuning software.
The throw out bearing went in this car, so we replaced the throw out bearing, with a OEM one, a exedy clutch and pressure plate...

After all this we bolted everything back up, I REPLACED the 550s with 450s and the stock fuel pump..

NOW THE PROBLEM, went to turn the car over, and as soon as she catches, RPMS SHOOT UP! what could cause this? Also, while this rapid RPM shoot up, its DUMPING fuel out the exhaust and causing a thick haze of smoke.. The throttle body is shut completely.

Please, ALL THE INFORMATION possible is appreciated...

I would start at the obvious with doing a boost leak test. That much fuel would likely bog out the motor, not cause the increase in RPM since you need both fuel AND air.

Are the 450 injectors in good working order and not stuck open, have you checked out the ECU board?

The 450s were in my GST before i went to 1200ccs.. about 6 months ago, they been sitting around.. and before i replaced the clutch, the motor would idle just fine even with the 255 pump and 450 injectors..

May still want to check first with a 9v battery to the injectors to have them open up a few times.

Fuel alone wouldn't cause an rpm shoot up. Air is needed also. What else did you remove when doing the clutch? Any vacuum lines, hoses, connectors etc loose? How do you know the throttle is closed, because nobody is pushing the pedal or are you looking at the throttle lever on the body? ISC working? How high do the rpms go? I am curious if you have an injector stuck though. Would be easy enough to check. One or more cylinders would likely be wet, smell of gas and the spark plug would be wet or possibly sooty depending on how long you ran it.

would a stuck injector cause the fuel dumping out of exhaust?

Also when i take the MAF connector out, the idle goes to like 2.3k then it gradually goes up faster, but when the connector is in, it literally shoots up to redline and you have to shut the car off quick.. And if you don't turn car off decides the redline issue, its dumping a shit done of smoke out.

Stuck throttle? Disconnect the cable and see if itll idle. If the TB plate cant open, you should only have to deal with boost leaks after the TB and fuel issues.

I'm having a similar issue after pulling my throttle body off & cleaning it. I thought the TPS had gone bad but even after replacing it it still happens. All of the vacuum tubing I removed was put back in the exact same spot that it was taken from. I should also mention that this all started with the car not starting, which turned out to be fouled plugs. I have had a check engine light on for a while that read out a generic OBDII code for the air system, but that has not come back since I disconnected the battery to remove the throttle body. It also, prior to the reported issues, has had the idle hunting problem after warm up (Revving between 1500 & 2000 rpm in park).

If anyone has a good answer for this I'd love to hear it.

That happened to me one time on a 240sx after I put 2stroke gas/oil in the tank by accident. It idle at like 5500 and slowly started dropping on its on,never found out what it was. You can try disconnecting the iac valve and plugging it back.
