Hey guys just wanted to give another update. Was at a local meet with my car and the owner of the hoagie shop got video of my car just doing some antilag and launch control. Wanted to post up the video of my holset running. sorry at this point that there isnt an engine bay shot or video of the car running down the street. Its almost impossible for me to get my pictures or videos on the net. If this would be better posted in the holset results thread Im sorry and please feel free to move it.

Antilag was done first and I lifted after it built 30psi. Not sure why it didn't start to pop and spit fire like usual. Launch control was set at 5500rpm and It built about 24-26 psi before I lifted.

Also have over 12k on the holset build now and I love it!!!

Trying to put together an HX40 .70 a/r on my 2.0L... I need a t3 flanged exhaust manifold and was wondering if anyone knows which one will fit without having clearance issues between the turbo and the block... Thanks!

If anyone is interested in trying the new Batmowheel, I'd suggest PMing Drew Jones (BrokenTsi). I'm buying my Batmowheel through him, his pricing can't be beat by anyone! I can't wait to run this sucker next season.

Just a friendly reminder, please no discussion posts in the Results thread.

Looks like more and more people are getting their setups tuned in.

Got into Island Dragway on Sunday to get an official time on my car. I was hoping for twelves and maybe elevens if things were great but this was the first outing in 3 years at a track for me and the first time this car saw the 1/4 mile.
Long story short. went 13.0 @ 107 with a 1.7x 60 spun off the line a little, went rich up top, and had some knock. Pulled it back in. I decided to raise the launch control, lean it out, take out timing. and try it again. Results were a slightly faster 1.7x 60 with a 12.9 at @109mph. Im glad its in the twelves. Im glad it trapped over a 100mph but why am I missing 11mph on the top end? I feel it should have been better through the eigth mile too. I know I had a small boost leak at the lower intercooler pipe due to the t bolt clamps being the wrong size but Im just baffled as im practically the slowest hx 35 but probably one of the 5 -10 lightest dsms and my set up isn't really different from others.

Im also considering ditching the magnus intake manifold and going back to stock and going with a larger 3-4 inch intake pipe with evo maf to replace my 2g maf and dejon 2g intake pipe

I use the premium punishment racing manifold and love it fits great with my hx40

a few questions, do you have disable airflow smoothing checked? it shouldnt be.
i assume your on pump gas? what kind exactly? 91, 93, 94? race? reason i am asking is because your octane table is kind of all over the place, try to smooth it out. if it doesnt match your actual af ratio then you will need to make adjustments elsewhere to help them line up better. and 12.4 is a pretty lean number to reach for on pump gas. unless your on e85 which i doubt from all of the knock.

Crap, let me clarify some things that I forgot. Yes this is on pump gas 93 octane. the fuel table has never matched my wideband. I do not have my wideband wired to link. my wideband was reading 10.8 during third and fourth gear. thats when it knocked. After the first pass is when i leaned it our further to try and get some better numbers and i subtracted a degree of timing throughout the rpm range above 4k at the highest load cell.
I know I had some knock but it was all really below 5-6 counts. Not enough to pull timing

In the past i have had the car at 12.0-12.3 afr on 16-18 degrees of timing and no knock. this was on 25-28 psi.

I didn't have a new t-bolt clamp so i had to reuse an old one that looks like it was to large for the pipe. so instead of fixing my boost leak properly i did the next best thing i could do which was to lean out the car.

Boost leaks cause a drop in lb/min airflow correct? and a 2g intake pipe might be restricting top end flow on a holset 35?

Well.. crap. Justin just informed me that my HX40 already needs a rebuild and also that my turbine housing (that I never inspected before it was bolted on the car) is waaay too big (22cm) so I need a smaller one ASAP. If anyone knows where I can buy a 17cm^2 (T4) divided holset housing, please let me know.

Thanks

^ Not that it necessarily needs a rebuild from your use; perhaps it was in need of a service all along. It's impossible to know, really- I'll be sure to let you know what I find when I get it tore down and whether there was any evidence of oil contamination.

Contact ebay seller Sluag he's got a whole wearhouse full of Holsets. I've spent hrs. in there.

I believe I have a 17cm^2 housing in the shop. I can check monday when I get to the shop. pm if interested

Does anyone know what holset thread the Dark Performance manifold pictures were in that showed the missing wategate exit divider? I remember seeing a picture that showed how that manifold isn't an ideal twin scroll design and I wanted to show those pics to my tuner to see if he could weld up a proper divider inside the wastegate port. I did a search and manually clicked through several holset threads but I cant find the pics anywhere.

Looked through a lot of this thread but couldn't find a good answer (or I'm blind, both are possible). What are the visual differences between a HX35 and HX40? Have got someone selling one here but he's not sure which one it is. What things should I be looking at and/or measuring to check which one it is?

OK, further to my post above, here are some pics of the supposed Holset. Holset gurus - what do you think at first glance? There is a link below so you can see full size pics of it in the album (maybe better for inspecting):

Hey guys im going to be running a 8 blade hx40 with a goal of 550hp. My build will be ross 8.5 to 1 pistons and manley rods. Kelford 272s and e85. Im wondering on what turbine housing to run because i dont want to run the stock twin scroll. So i was wondering what housing would be best for my car. This is going to be a street car with some occasional track use. Thanks for your input..

You will need the t3 .70 to get what you want without having to push it as hard. You could use the bolt on .55 but you are going to have to run a lot more boost.
