ideas for a high7 to low8 sec 1/8 dd i was wondering what mods i need to to run high 7s in the 1/8 the car is a 92 gsx

DSM 1/4 Mile Times - 1/4

Look on that page. Then look at people's mods list. This will give you an idea. Most people running 7/8s on the 1/8th have a car capable of 11s/12s.

I would say :
Wideband
DSM Link
Boost Gauge
Boost Controller
16g/20g/FP Green
3" Turbo Back
FMIC
Crushed/Dodge Modded BOV
2g MAF or 3" GM MAF
Intake with good filter.
Wally 255
AFPR
Upgraded Injectors. Probably 850-1000cc range.

Might be a few other things you can through in the mix. But your probably gonna want a good clutch and a built transmission if your going to daily it.

^^ that.......

I got an 8.2@88mph 1/8 on street tires and pump gas , but that was bad in my book cause i had a week launch @ 1.8.... and a bad starter, and it was hot outside, and my intercooler was heat soaked causing knock in 3rd & 4th gear......LOL, but my car is deffinetly capable of mid-high 7's in the 1/8th on a good day.... all mods in my profile are current for my timelslip exept that I just went speed density( was on a 2g MAF ), and got an ETS front mount core ( previously on a Punishment intercooler ).

Threads kind of old, but I ran 8.3's on my 16G setup. Mods in profile(Except at the time I was on stock cams, and almost completely untuned), knocking due to intercooler having 130+ degree IAT's, no traction at all (1.8 60') only 17lbs of boost, and my headbolts were only torqued down to 45 ft/lbs among other issues.

Everything's hunky-dory now, and the last time I went to the track, I rolled it out of the hole(didn't launch) and trapped 90mph. Keep in mind my cars an Automatic, so it traps lower than you 5-speed boys but higher ET's.

My setup is cheap as hell, but properly done. You don't need 880-1000cc+ injectors, I've got Denso 660's and even at 24lbs of boost and on HKS 272's IDC's are only at 70ish%. My only advice is do not half ass anything, and do not try to cut corners. Do things right, take your time, and don't try to rush and hack everything together just to get a certain time.

All this + Driver mod. If you can't drive the car. You wont get the time. Practice, practice ,practice.

We have only an 1/8th mile here as well and i'm about to take my AWD swapped 2g up there so this thread interests me a good bit. I think my last chance this year is friday i hope i can i figure out all my driveline noises and solve them or at least determine thye're not harmfull in time to go.

I just wanted to know what kinda 60foots a stock 5 speed trans is putting up with?
