Long story short I bought some Denso 660 injectors and I didn't receive them for almost 4 weeks. So I didn't think they were coming so I bought some FIC 650cc injectors and the next day the Denso 660 injectors came in. So now I'm stuck with both and I'm not sure which set I want to install and which set I want to sell. The Denso 660cc injectors have about 3000 miles on them and have been flow tested to be even. The FIC 650cc injectors have about 500miles on them.

Which injector would give me the smoothest idle and best fuel economy? Which injector would be better for performance?

Thanks in advance

I would use the Fic's for two reasons one they have lower miles on them. The other being that Fic's will flow exactly what they say they will and out of all the injectors I have looked at they seem to hold the best spray pattern.

Well the tips of each injector looks different so there must be a difference in at least the spray pattern. Is there anyone on here who has tried both that can tell which one they prefer and why?

Had my 660s running with a 92% Injector Duty cycle w/o any problems so I vote for the underdog :p

You don't notice any problems but your injectors do, when you start going over the 80% duty your injectors start to quit pulsing and shoot a steady stream of fuel which will lead to early failure and in some cases cause a rich afr.

+1 for FIC. They are a great company to deal with and great customer service. I had to send my 850s in to get cleaned and flow tested twice because of a fuel problem I was having. They even offered me a new set of injectors at a discounted price if the second cleaning didn't fix my problem.

The injectors ended up not being the problem but the fact they offered to help me out like that shows what kind of company they are.

Okay so FIC has good customer service, but I'm not really looking for that since I didn't buy them from FIC anyway, I just want to know the physical differences between the Denso and FIC injectors so I can make my decision.

After doing some research I found out that the Denso injectors are pintle type and the FIC injectors are ball/disc style. A lot say ones better than the other, they said Denso is better at idle but FIC is better at full throttle. Is there any scientific proof that would give this some truth?

As far as I know, the "smaller" FIC fuel injectors are modified GM Rochester models... I have Denso 660cc injectors; used them for years without trouble. They usually flow more like 720cc, and with the recommended deadtime addition of 168us, I had to set my global correction to 740cc to get the maps to line up. This was at 37.5psi base fuel pressure, and I ran 25psi daily on 93 pump with an 18G and never saw over 78% duty cycle. Im actually sending them in to FIC soon to get flow tested and cleaned and will post the results when I do.:thumb:

hmmm interesting, I think I might install the Densos and see how I like them, if I don't then I'll install the FICs, Anyone interested in buying either set?

It's all about tuning, don't ask the question which is 'better'. That's just a run-around on what people say and think. Obviously if you have one instead of the other you would this it's better...

Which is better... HKS cams or Kelford cams, JM Fab SMIM or Magnus SMIM

I didn't bother to do the so-call upgrade and pay $500 for the FIC 1650cc BlueMax. I just stayed with the old FIC 1600cc and it performed just as well with fine tuning skills to adjust the idle.

Ive never ran anything other than FIC's, and i never will. FIC makes quality products which i have had no problems with. Go with the FIC's if you can.

Classic example of that! If you haven't ran anything but FIC than how is your comparison based?

my98gsx, who really is the manufacturer of the FIC injectors and does FIC actual flow better than Denso because Denso ALWAYS flows better than what they are rated for.

But if the fact that FIC is better than others cannot be proved then I will go as far as saying that Adidas is better the Nike and Perry Ellis is better than Hugo Boss.
