My car was filthy. It was pouring rain all the way to NJ for me and I could not find a car wash in the morning for the life of me. This event was more fun than I thought it would be. I would say that more people raced this event than this year's shootout.

Congrats on the run.:thumb: Too bad we couldn't make it more of a close race, We got a warning after our first race that we would be kicked out if we ran faster than 11.5 without the rest of the cage installed.

Broken I wasn't there personally but I see you got know the rest of my team.

Was anyone able to get video of our car?

I had a good time. It looked more like an evo fest then it did subie vs mitsu. I put my car in the show and wound up only competing against 1 other dsm ( the amg gvr4) so I came home with a 3 ft trophy since they offered 10 trophies for each class. Due to wind I was one of the few cars to have the hood open atleast for a short time. I got there around 12-12:30 so Im not sure what I missed prior. I hope that maybe next year a dsm event or mitsu vs subie event can be held at island dragway. Although it wasn't as much fun as the shootout in ohio it was still a great event. I wish more vendors were there.

P.S.- sorry for the appearence of my car. my rustoleum enamel paint job just didn't quite come at as planned when i attempted to wet sand and compound it. Also, Thank you for taking such a nice picture of my car. I know I saw a guy take a picture of my engine bay. Anyone know where that picture is? Im curious how well it came out.

I think some of my friends got a video. I'll try to get them for you.

Yeah, I got to meet a few of them and talk to them here and there. You got yourself a good crew there.

I almost feel honored that my car made it on one of the pics posted. :hellyeah: Was just sitting in the parking lot with the door strip falling off of it and all.

Had a blast at the event and it gave me inspiration.

Thanks, glad to see the new turbo work so well for you. Will you be back out on the 30th or Nov. 19th?

I heard there was something going on the 19th....I'll try to look it up, but what kind of race is it?

Found it. EVO vs WRX/STI street wars.............and "High Tech street muffled import vs U.S. Muscle showdown.

I'll be there.

What were these guys doing after every run?

Not as many people as last year but still seemed like a good turnout.
I think this track is windy every single time I go.

His catch can overfilled during the run and dumped some oil out of it. They were jsut double checking over everything to make sure nothing else was leaking. His 9.6 run was great!

2gdanny - Nice Pics! Your first Pic is a Pic of my Black 2G! We were waiting to get in...

eclipse_16g - Pics came out Good! Thats a Pic of my Buddy and I Racing in the 1st Race
(White 2G against my Black 2G).

I also had a good time. I thought there was a pretty even mix of subie to mitsu. Earlier in the week I was considering entering my car in the show, but decided not to because one, its a N/T, and two, it rained all week so I didnt have any time to detail it properly. Once I got there I was kind of wishing I did because yours was sitting there all by herself. Anyway, it was really a fun event, with potential to be much greater than it was. I was also suprised with the lack of vendors considering there are soo many around the tri-state area. Next year we should try to make this event bigger and get more support from some of the vendors/shops in the area.

I will be attending also on November 19th. On the 20th Atco raceway is also having an import vs. muscle throwdown, I started on thread on it a few weeks ago. By the way congrats on the win, I didnt get a chance to stay until the finals but figured you would win.

It was fun standing right out by the staging lanes as the cars kept getting called back. All the subies were pretty reliable and didn't give much drama but when a dsm drove by... Oh boy was there drama. Clutchs stunk, some cars smelt like antifreeze. Dsms left oil on the ground. evos were getting towed. I LOVE MITSU!!! If I had a subie I'd probably be bored with all the reliability and I'd still be broke because of how much more it cost to build a subie. I did like hearing a few subies drive around with ppg tranmissions. SOUNDED SWEET!

As far as me being all by myself in the show. I was embarassed to park next to the ultra clean white galant vr4. He was in my class but that was it. I had a few friends That showed up with dsms that were all cleaned and detailed and one dsm had brand new fresh paint but they didn't enter in the show. I showed up late, detailed my car while I was there. Left all the dirt and pebbles on my carpet didn't dust the dashboard and came home with that beautiful 3 ft trophy. Thank god they were handing out trophies for top ten. LOL I definatley did not deserve it. My car was built to look decent while going fast not look good standing still.

Does anyone remember my car from last year painted several different colors but mainly Olive drab green (self etching primer) ? I was the tenth entry in my class last year and took home a 2.5 ft trophy. AWESOME!

Hey what set up are you running? Where you at East Coast Mitsubishi Owners Day? Your car looks really familiar I think I might have talked to you at one of the meets.

i had a ball, i ran a 11.0 got a warning. So i went back turned the boost down, and went a second time went 11.1 on low boost. then got kicked out for no roll cage. The event was funs, but the staff sucks for kicking me off the track. Alot of nice cars this yr. Last yr was def wack. Whos attending the Nov 19th event?

More videos to come but here is dsm2gnick doing work!

His car is awesome and was laying down the cleanest passes. It seemed like everyone else was having trouble bogging off the line. Im actually suprised that he didnt get the boot after the pass traping 140 mph with only the 6pt roll bar.

^^Shame you forgot to turn on the GoPro. ;) You are so close to 10s man!

Took plenty of pics, uploaded ~30 for now, hope you guys enjoy! I know I had a good time seeing all these East Coast cars that I figured I never would, I was probably the only DSM there from West of the Mississippi!

Jordan

Just popping in here to look at the pics and vids as i saw most of the Evo stuff on EvoM.

Jordan it sounds like your 2 step is still activating while you're foot is still on the clutch :banghead:

I'm guessing you're slipping it? If not maybe your foot was still slightly touching the pedal.

Similar thing has happend in my Evo when setting the variable for speed too high.....

Thanks all for the pics and vids :hellyeah:

Never been to any dsm meets other then the dsm shootout in ohio and the mitsu vs subie day. There was one small meet at my buddies hoagie shop but not more then 5 people were there.

Eclipse _16g- Yea thats the pic! I think you may have been the guy I told to please not take any pics until I was able to clean the engine bay. Picture came out great! Thank you. All my engine bay shots I have ever taken were always in my shop or at night so they are dark. Im in serious need of a wire tuck.

Once somebody posted a picture of your engine bay I knew that you werent the same person I was thinking of.

From 1 run? Or wasn't it emptier prior?

Yea, its pretty full after one run. It was empty when we started. A couple things attributed to this. They didn't exactly know when our "class" was going to be run, so we spent a good amount of time in the staging lanes hanging out, and by the time they rushed us to the line, the car wasn't warmed up by then (ultimately my fault). Cold 20w50 motor oil, and 100+ psi of oil pressure doesn't exactly drain out of the head too fast. The engine runs very high rpm, so some of that oil ended up filling the can. We also changed fuel recently and found that we are getting more fuel vapor in the catch can than the previous fuel, so it was a double whammy for us. The second pass was much better, since the car was plenty warm. Still, its a problem I'm working on fixing before next months event.

Had a great time this weekend with the boys, hope you all had a good time also!

-Mike
