Mods suggestion for 1000 bucks

Someone,

i need help deciding whats my next mod should be with a budget of 1000, can anyone help and suggest.

My current mods are:

CX Racing FMIC, 16g Turbo, HKS BOV, 1g Throttle Body, 255 Walpro Fuel Pump, 550 Injectors, AFPR, Ported O2 housing, Ported Exhaust Manifold, 3" Custom Straight Exhaust, AEM TruBoost Controller, AEM wideband.

Posting here about what mods you want to get youll will most likley get a responce for mods as "did you do your maintenance?" In a good way, meaning maintenance=HP but if your looking for mods your list is pretty good. Try maxing out that setup, how much boost you running now on your 16g, and what kind of 16g is it?

its the evo3 turbo. im on stock head gasket and internals, i need to change the gasket to a cometic i have with arp studs. i run from 18-20lbs but something is wrong cause it feels un responsive. i have a small leak on one injector and head gasket.

my goal for now is low 13's at the 1/4 mile.

Sounds about right my gf has a evo 2 16g at 20 pounds, that setup should get you into low 13's. She is still running her stock motor with 217k on it, knock on wood hasn't blown yet. But look into fixing up those couple of issue and lay down some track times... doh winter is coming so you have plenty of time to get it to perfection.

Do you have a MHI evo 3 or a piece of junk ebay? I recently switched from a ebay 16g to a MHI and I'm only on 15 psi untuned, and let me tell you a MHI turbo should not feel unresponsive at all.
 
I would install those arps, is your cometic a MLS? If its not go ahead and change it, and install the arps. You might need bigger injectors to max out that 16g.

The 16g doesn't really pick up until 10psi+ on stock cams. Once you hit 10psi in the powerband its a real kick in the pants if your ecu isn't pulling timing because your seeing knock.

I'd stay away from brian crower, I've never ran them myself but I haven't heard many good things about them. Check out Delta regrinds. I myself just got HKS 272 regrinds from delta and they feel great and they are not very expensive.

Unless you have a specific reason to pull the head then there is no need to pull it simply to change the headgasket. The stock one is plenty strong as long as your motor is in good shape. Just install the ARPs in one at a time and follow the correct installation and torque down procedures. Plenty of others have done it including myself and I was on a t3/t4 running 25 psi and now im on a FP HTA 35r running 27 psi.
 
Delta cams. are great I have a 272 and 280 setup. if. have a stock clutch I would go ahead and replace it if is still factory if not cams and studs wouldn't be a bad way to go either
 
How about a huge spolier? Rice out your ride.

I would suggest bigger injectors, maybe some FIC 950cc's to run E85 and try finding a deal on a used dsm link setup, I got mine with ecu and dsmlink V2.5 for $250 total, best deal ever! And the best part about all of this stuff is that it could all be had for alot less then $1000 since everyone is poor now a days and no one is buying parts so everything is going for super cheap.

Replacing the stock clutch is also not a bad idea and honestly you could get a used fidanza flywheel disk and PP for pretty cheap as well. You could probably get everything in my post still for under a $1000.
 
you keep saying it might be your tune. Whats your airfuel ratio at WOT and are you getting any knock? because if you arent getting any knock and you arent to lean more then 11.5 you are fine on pump gas.

Is flashing the 98-99 ecus less attractive than link?

Before the 1g tb, my WOT afr was going up to 10 and i have changed it to 12.5. I just instaled the 1g tb and was fixing some leaks. As of know i do have knock all over my rpm ranges. Im just gonna change the head gasket and re- tune with the new changes.

Ill be doing this soon. I want this car to be my daily driver and have fun both on the street and track.
