A BOV is a main component in a turbo system. If you are willing to risk your engine for a $30 BOV then have at it, but i'd rather depend on my TurboXS RFL over a $30 amazon knock-off...

Just go on craigslist and buy a used, brand name BOV...

If you want a cheap BOV, get a Greddy S or RS knockoff and replace the diaphragm with a NGR piece.

Or just find a cheap 1g bov.

The one that's leaking now is a turbo xs or atleast looks like one.

Edit: it doesn't have the vents on the back of it though.

That one that I'm looking at is a greddy type rs wannabe.

I know you guys are all about big money parts and that's fine, once I start building the car I will be to. But right now its completely stock except for the bov. I got the car in trade just need it to be a dependable daily driver getting good mpg

As I mentioned, either get the POS diaphragm knockoff BOV and change the diaphragm to one that won't leak or just get a cheap 1g BOV for the same price that will hold better.

Make sure you are recirculating it back to the intake as well.

Do you know if its possable to rebuilt the one that I have? Like I said, it looks like a turbo xs but without the vents on the back. This is the only pic I have of it right now. Tomorrow morning I'll take it off and snap a better one.

Just use the stock bov it will work just fine for a stock daily. Key word "stock". I would start dropping coin on a tune-up. That $30 would have bought plugs and wires. That is better for mpg.

^^^ These are your best options IMHO.:)

But... If it IS like a turbo xs you could take it apart and try to lube the slide in it. They are different than a diaphragm type and just use a brass slide to vent the charge. This brass slide can get stuck and won't want to move freely. I had some luck with lubing it with wd-40/pb blaster and it would work better for a while.

Good luck!:thumb:

You also have the option of running a 1g bov with a 2g adapter flange. I owned one once upon a time. Instant upgrade. No doubt. 2g plastic bov starts leaking around 8 psi I hear.

Never ever.....ever use a bov that cost less that 150 bucks. Why you ask think about the top bov tial, hks, blitz, and others they are manufacture with higher constraints and better quality control. A bov isn't like a dollar store hamme it control the flow of your turbo into your intake, if it fails your screwed

Some better pics of the one I have. I've already takin it apart and shimmed the spring, that didn't work. Is it possable to reseat the piston? Lap it in the way you would an intake valve?

You could mess around with that thing until the end of time and it still wouldn't seal up, or work well.:| The best thing to do would be to go to the 1g valve for its reliability, as well as it being cheap and easy to find.

Where are these diaphragms located! i bought a Cheap knockoff 2years ago when i was a super noob, and no i have three leaking 1g BOV's! If i could get a NGR diaphragm, i will do so or else i'm saving for the Forge!

FYI, you aren't risking your engine by running with a cheap bov or even without. Quit posting false information for others to read. Your RFL isn't any better than what the op bought......

I didn't buy anything yet but thank you for backing me up :) I'm trying to reseat the valve. I figured if I can do it to an intake valve on a 350 why not this
