Congrats Dave! Got that monkey off your back in style! 9.6 with a 1.83 60 ft is mind blowing. Can't wait until we see what can be done next year. Obviously you haven't had an opportunity on a well prepped track with proper temps to learn the launch with the new setup, only having a couple passes in! You get out there a few more times and you'll be back in the healthy 60 ft range and then we'll see some real magic!

As for the Batmowheel vs. HX40 talk, oh well, it's still a holset and it's still the first one to go this quick. I would still call it a budget build, just because all the parts aren't budget doesn't mean it's not a budget build, you apply parts as you can afford them. Certain parts that aren't considered budget such as the dogbox, end up being budget as it'll save you money replacing transmissions in the long run. When you're trying to go fast you're going to push the envelope by trying different parts and different things, people who don't like it can go run whatever they want and try for themselves. Keep up the good work!

Congrats Dave!

The PPG dogbox you run, is it stock gearing except for a longer first or is it shorter like the Evo 3 gearset?

I'm really curious as to why people keep mentioning that "it's not a budget build anymore" and things like that. How many 9 second DSM's do you guys know of that doesn't have a built/rebuilt transmission of some sort in it? And how many times has it/will it continue to take that kind of abuse? Also, how is having a $3000 syncro transmission that breaks every other pass considered budget by some of you? Because it's still considered "streetable"? Get real! How about giving the guy credit for running times that a LOT OF US would buy a large turbo to try to run? Also, for those of you who think it's easy, get over yourselves! 9 second timeslips don't just show up because you "bought all the best/newest/latest/greatest parts". It takes TONS of work! The transmission just helped eliminate one thing that is sure to go wrong eventually, it didn't make the car run 9's. It was a 9 second car before the dogbox. Give the guy the credit he deserves!

Currently 21st on the list of fastest members on our site (Jeff Bush is on there twice for some reason), and you have the worst 60ft time of anyone on the first page. LOL

That's doin' it in style!

Jeff's on there twice because he made the list with 2 different cars, and two entirely different setups.

Fixed that. There was actually two people on that list twice. So Dave's sitting at 20th now.

Congrats Dave! About damn time!! Lol now its time for some safety equipment... Next year I'm also going to focus on some safety equipment. If something goes wrong your pretty much screwed...

Link is estimating 720hp or so, which seems right on par with the peak airflow we've seen. He was gonna dyno the car at last year's Shootout...even brought street tires, but Buschur said no cars with side-exit exhaust. Probably take the car to see Nate @ Wyotech early spring once we get more fuel and a better intercooler.

-4AN feed from the filter housing, 7/64" (.109") restrictor to make the line the size of a -3AN to bring pressure to within spec.

-10AN drain, two 45* fittings with about a 3" piece of braided line. Fitting at the turbo was "funneled" to the same size as the turbo's outlet.

Thanks, thanks everyone! It is about time, I was so worried that this year was going to end without a 9s slip...
Yes its definitely saftey time, it be stupid to go any more without it! chute and 10 point cage is in the works this winter... Gonna stick with the same motor and turbo's for next year... need bigger injectors and a ets intercooler too!

I really need to leave the car alone all next year so I can learn how to drive it again!

Dave..Hasen't your motor been through a few seasons? Your running what a Eagle/Wiseco 21mm pin? Thats awesome. Just goes to show you with good tuning, how much power a standard off the shelf setup will hold. You think it will hold another season? You gotta be close to 750hp at the crank by now, if not more. What are your thoughts?

Yeah this was the second year on the standard eagle/ wiseco bottom end!
I'm going to stick with it, untill it blows, no need to upgrade untill needed!

Just snagged something pretty interesting, Dave- it's an open T4-flanged .96 a/r Garrett housing with a 3" v-band which has been cut for a H1E or HX40. Of course this would require a different manifold, but if you ever suspect the .70 T3 housing of being too restrictive, then this should put the suspicion to rest. ;)

It would definitely be laggier than your current housing, and laggier than a full twin-scroll manifold and turbine housing...but it would get the job done for peak flow if necessary. I don't have a lot in it so it will just sit at the shop until we decide to run it or not.

Haha so your the one who won that auction. I too made a couple bids on it. ;)

Dave, BIG congratulations to you and Justin on your 9-second pass. Keep it coming!!! :D

Yup, wanted it for the housing only. :thumb:

OR if Dave doesnt do that option #2 could be to toss it my way and we can replace that shitty turbonetics that is on Jordan's compound setup with an HX40 ;-) He needs something in that exact footprint...and options are limited to say the least..
