YOu guys running 35-37psi... are you just swapping to L19's on your old HG and getting away with this or are a lot of you using MLS gaskets as well?

I ask because my new turbo needs to be run in this range and i badly want to do it and make it to the track before this year is over.. Problem is i need L19's, bigger injectors (1000's aint doin it) and i need slicks and tubes which are up damn near 125 a set from last i bought them :( and i have 3 weeks before i have a chance to get trailered back jsut in case from the track 2.5 hrs away.

But another thing i'm wondering is if you're going through the hassle of upgrading to 5 bar map sensors or just dialing in your 3 bars "32psi" cell to provide the proper fueling at your final boost (this is how we did it before you coudl find or afford 5 bar MAP's)

Have you got the turbo yet?:)

i have had it for awhile.its been a slow process for me financially and not have much time with a 1 yo and 2yo kid.but i am driving the car on the street to make pulls and start tuning.

glenn i run maperformance h11 studs with a cometic metal hg.i might be o ringing the block soon.as for the map sensor i run a 5 bar map.here is a cheaper alternative to a 5 bar Xenocron Tuning Solutions: 4 bar GM-style MAP sensor. i deal with chris harris alot xenocron is a good place to deal with

Any updates?

Yeah a sad one. Been in hospital for few days a guy pull in front of the eclipse and now she is totally destroyed. Waiting on insurance company. He was cited for not yeilding the right of way. I will post pics of the car. engine and turbo are good:cool:

I am running 35 psi. I use the hks head gasket, L19, and an oring block that was done by machine shop to fit right behind the stopper on the hks gasket. This is the only thing that cured my coolant pushing issue.

Is there a e85 station in Newnan? Good luck on the dyno:thumb:

Yeah there is one off temple ave, chevron. Just right across from the advance auto parts store. They just started selling about 4 months ago:thumb:

Damn keltalon, sorry to hear about the accident, I hope you don't have to deal with any long term chronic pain from any of the injuries you took. It's something that will eat at you physicallyt and mentally (i know first hand for about 10+years now). Don't skimp on having anything and everything that bothers you checked out because if you skip it now and end up with pain later it's much harder to get a doctor to believe you sometimes if it wasn't documented to begin with. I toughed out a lot of pain and when certain things hurt real bad a year or 2 later the first few doctors acted like i was just there for pills because I was saying it was a 2 year old injury and hadn't been to the doc for it. plus so many abuse pain meds now half the time docs think that's the only reason you're there. Thank god i found a good doc at the university medical center here and he's not skimped on having anything i bring up fully checked and examined instead of just brushing it off like its something I just wanted to complain about. (I've needed many surgeries to reconstruct things which sucks but at least it "documents" my pain background for when i have to see each new specialist for this and that, but it was a motorcycle wreck too, nothing like belts and air bags on one but i sure wish there had been LOL ) Thanskfully it sounds like you came out a lot better off and that's really good to hear, i don't wish long term chronic pain on anyone, even if i didn't like em i wouldn't wish this on em

it's good to hear that your main running gear all made it out ok and it really is just a loss of sheet metal and not the expensive goodies you've gathered and installed over the years.

You could always buy it back from insurance, get a front clip from the boneyard and rebuild it yourself for a profit :D

Glad you made it out alive man. Are you gonna put it in an AWD?

I am considering all options. but I did find this body of a gst for a 1000.00 I really wouldn't mind an awd but am finding it difficult to locate one around here. I was soooo glad it didn't damage my engine or my turbo I have put so much into the car. I guess the next thing is finding how much I will get from the insurance company.

the only known issue right now is my left knee. The dash board came down on both knees being 6'4" tall in an eclipse spyda is already tight so you can imagine what it was like after the hit:hmm:

OH man, knee injuries are no joke, get an MRI and make sure the meniscus or any ligaments aren't torn. I have two bad knees (destroyed my left one almost completely, it's easiest to say the only thing i didn't tear was the PCL, all other soft tissues were torn and needed replacing, repairing or removale depending on which one you refer to) My right knee i shattered the knee cap in, that hurt for a long time but it's actually calcified over and sorta healed, but it healed deformed in shape)

but enough of me, take care of that knee, have it checked over thoroughly!!! That shell aint bad for a grand, but if you want a 1g AWD there's one here i've been keeping a secret cause i want it :D it's a clean 1g wioth a built auto drivetrain in it for 900, it use to belong to forum member flawlessTSI and is now sadly being parted out by the new owner :( I can't afford a 2nd car no matter what but you could by my shell and i could buy that one and we could spend a weekend/week swapping drivertrains in my driveway/shop

Okay insurance company settled on the car and I am more than happy. got 5000.00 and was able to keep the car. I purchased the car in the pic for 1000.00 so now the tranplant begins. Still waiting to settle the personal injury claim which which will add to the amount I will be working with. This time I am upgrading the transmission. I should have the new project up and running sometime in the future.

damn, i wish some one would hit my car :D

no, seriously though, great deal glad to see things work out for others now and then (shit never goes my way, i'd owe 5k and the car would dissapear and that's if the other driver was at fault)

It's kind of like seeing the past and present seeing the two cars together. Have fun swapping everything over and I look forward to hearing about you boosting again.

Yeah its like saying good by to a close friend at the same time saying hello to a new one. :boring: me and the spyda have a nice history. The silver one will now represent the new look of 500 HP on the area.

Just saw the most recent stuff on this thread. I am sorry to hear about your car but am happy that you weren't seriously hurt. Good luck on your new swap and keep us posted. :D

well got the engine out of the spyda. Just got to finish preping the new shell to accept it.

Engine is installed in new shell:D Now I am waiting on all my other parts to come in from california will be here on monday and I should have the car up and running by the end of next week;)

In your shoes I would have just waited out on an AWD. Opportunity gave you a chance to go all out and you upgraded from the Spyder but still fell short in the scheme of things. You'll at least have a highway monster.

I'll assume you've never driven an AWD DSM, after driving both I don't think a FWD would ever be an option. I'd either have an AWD DSM or nothing at all, especially at the power levels you are soon to be at.

Good to hear you're ok and hope everything works out for sure.

You are going to like the hard top so much better. Spyders are fun but have way way way to much flex.

I aready do;) I am suprised that there isn't much about it on the boards about the flexing its the main reason I didn't go with another spyder.

Yeah my first dsm was an all wheel drive had it for about 5yrs. Its something about the FDW:cool:

Yeah, there is, Its called, "No traction" ROFL

True there's some traction issues but I have greatly improved upon the issue with a well calculated clutch and turbo set up check out this pull to 145mph. ;) you may knotice that the car did spin in 3rd but it was basically pulling well to 120mph for when I shifted to 4th the mph didn't drop showing the car has a great amount of traction at my power levels. I have raced a buddy of mine who puts out around 600awhp and from a 30mph roll I was right there with him until we both shut the cars down. like I said this is not your ordinary high torque spinning FDW.
