yea i know LOL the timing was also 10 degrees retarded.

but yet ive got another problem now i think, if i get in it hard when boosted it acts like it wants to start missing.
it only does it under boost though. the mechanic said the stock exhaust is smothering the engine. i have no idea what it is. maybe it just needs a tune up?

Your downpipe that attatches to the turbos o2 housing has what is called a flex pipe on it underneath the car. It is a mesh piece that prevents the pipe from excessively vibrate causing the bolts on the o2 housing to undo causing the pipe to pop off. The downfall with this piece is when it gets old it tends to collapse on itself under boost causing it to choke the motor creating the issue you are having now....

The fuel pump could be a possibility but not likely. Same with the filter. My first instinct though would to invest in either making or buying a boost leak tester to see if you have any boost leaks.

Than do a boost leak test and replace your downpipe at the least. Autozone sells flex pipe and you can have it welded on at a local exhaust shop for pretty cheap! Hell if I can talk to my room mate I bet if you brought your downpipe here he could weld it on for you for a decent price.

Megan isn't a bad name. I'd prefer either apexi or greddy though. just keep in mind If you go any higher than a 2.5 inch exhaust your looking at tuning the car. A bigger exhaust means the car will run leaner.

I found a 6 bolt block and crank for 100 but that's gonna be a lot more work I think. But if you know where a 7 bolt is anywhere let me know and ill get on it ASAP

Wait I just realized you said 7 bolt 4g64, what's the difference

Suck it up and do the work so you do not have to deal with this problem again later down the road. 6bolt swaps in my opinion are alot more reliable, the fact you said your cousin builds drag cars gives me the impression you want something fast as #### meaning more torque/power. When you start adding that shit on the 7 block they seem to tear up, also being a block you have to build, you could do the internals if you have the money and for under $600 have a pretty nice build

That is saying you dont pay someone to do the work for you. check craigslist, ebay, etc for some of the parts, i know some local shops like modified imports sometime have spare shit laying around and can buy it cheap.

ok so the hose from the valve cover to the intake has oil in it, is there anyway that oil could be getting from that into the turbo causing it to smoke out the exhaust?

The tube that goes from the valve cover down to the intake tube behind the maf? or the one on the valve cover that goes to the intake manifold?

If the first one that means their is alot of pressure in the crank case causing the oil to resirculate back through the turbo. I'm not sure if it would cause smoke because I haven't seen something like that smoke, but I have seen smoke come from a bad pcv valve which is that piece that is on the valve cover that has the hose connecting to the intake manifold from the valve cover. If you see oil in that hose you have a bad pcv valve!

Hey were did you buy that boost leak tester from? I don't have the tools to make one so id like to buy one.

hey its easy to build just go to grandpas and pick up a end cap that will fit your inlet pipe and go to ricks used tire shop outside gate 6 and get a good tire valve and drill a hole in it to pull the valve in to seal and there you go.Iff you really need help I'll take you up there and get the stuff to build it. give me a call or text 2709853299.

Lookin for ppl that want to hang out. I have 2 dsms and I need help with my newest. It's a 95 tsi fwd with firing problems
