you can try Turbotrix in Edison....I think that they are still there. I used for quite a while, but haven't been there in a while

Turbotrix and dog box are both reputable shop...they both do good work...give em a call

I would try them. But be warned. They don't have the best customer service:notgood:. However, that doesn't get in the way of quality when it comes to the work they do.

You might want to look for some places in NY, seeing as how you are all the way up in north Jersey.

pampena motorsports is out on li. they do 3000gt and alot of mitsu stuff and the owner / main tuner ray pampena is an old school galant vr4 owner

The Shop

Kenny can tune DSMLink cars really well.
Just make sure the car is 100% before bringing the car over.
There is a red 95 GSX there now that was supposed to be dyno ready, but had a cracked sheet metal intake manifold, boost leaks out the ass, and the lower radiator hose is about to have a hole worn in it from the cut off counterweight on the transmission.

cute.u complain about the bill but u never mentioned u approved all the neccessary work. nor do u let everyone know u brought the car here(blown up and completely apart) and handed me 3 boxes (might have been 4 boxes) of bolts and said parts are in the car call me when its done.I didnt even meantioned you orginally wanted me to just install 1 piston till we talked you into doing things the correct way and replace all 4..... hope you get everything straightened out with the car for the etown shootout and have a nice day :D

p.s. your parts are still here and waiting for you to pick them up.If you paypal me the shipping ill be nice enough to drop them off to fedex for you since you forgot them when you got the car

p.p.s. Why dont you scan your invoice and post it?

As for the OP, I see you're in Rockaway. My mom lives in Denville and I come up once in a while to visit. If you want to save some money, I'd be more than happy to help you install link and help tune your car. Unless you have some CRAZY setup, I should be able to assist you. If you want, shoot me a PM, otherwise if you go with Ivey, they will do a great job. Best of luck.

I did complain about the bill, what was supposed to be a 700 job went to 1000 then up and up and up, as it took longer and longer. I did everything you wanted and said needed to be done. You said the fuel line broke, replace it. You said the oil return line broke, replaced it. I replaced all the little odds and ends even the head studs that YOU BROKE. You wanted money down, I drove the hour to bring you cash. You wanted money before I left on a mission, I again drove the hour to give it to you even though it was my last afternoon with my family before I left on a mission for 2 weeks. As the weeks went on I tried for 4 days in a row to get a hold of you with no answer to my texts or calls to the shop. Finally I drove up there to see you detailing your friend's car while another friend's car was on the lift and my car sitting covered in leaves. I was told on at least 3 occasions that my car would be done a certain day, so I made arrangements to get it tuned, I had to cancel the tune I had set up 3x because of the false promises of it being done. Now those guys wont even return my calls. You are the one that was telling me you had the time to rebuild 3 or 4 transmissions during the time my car was there, and rebuild the 2 engines for the shop Evo for the DSM shootout in Ohio on top of the detailing and friend car on the lift. Honestly I wouldn't be complaining if it weren't for the little things like that. I was told 2-3 weeks TOPS turn around time for the money that I was charged it should have been done in that time frame and done good/right. I had to tighten almost everyt little bolt on it so far. I still have not had the time to work on it in the 2 weeks I have had it back because my schedule is sooo crazy. I do understand that little things go wrong here and there and that too made the bill go up but between the time that i picked up my car and the time that the review was posted i learned from your DogBox website that you only charge $1800 for a complete rebuild including the parts needed. i got charged $1200 to install pistons and rods, head intake and turbo + $200 to "find misc bolts" when i provided all my own parts and had the head and everything off and rebuilt for you. i also got charged another $79 for a new head-gasket that im not sure even needed to be replaced.

I did fail to mention that the car was "blown up" because the car was not "blown up" when you got it, the car had been blown up but was on its way to being rebuilt when i dropped the car off there. I dropped it off with the head completely re-built and off and the 1 piston i originally wanted replaced out of the block all you had to do was take the other 3 pistons out and 1/2 the job was done. the only reason i agreed to replace all 4 pistons was because you refused to do or guarantee the job if i didnt. that was another $800 I shelled out for 4 custom pistons that were not necessary, even you said the 1 cylinder was in perfect shape and the other pistons and cylinders were still in perfect shape. when we dropped the car off you yourself looked at it briefly and said "everything is here, it looks really straight forward and should be too difficult." when you started this job you knew my schedule was crazy and things were nuts for me. I really thought that i was going to get a great job done by a great company and in all honesty i feel like i was let down and taken advantage of because my schedule was too busy between working active duty military, missions, training, deployments and trying to make time for the family, but i really thought that Dogbox was really going to take care of me and had somewhat understanding for a fellow DSMer in need. i recall a few e-mails and phone calls that were sent back and forth and i was promised i was going to be taken care of but here it is 6mo after those conversations, and $2,900 (According to invoice $2000 was labor alone) and i still have a car that does not Run.

p.s. I asked you at least 3x for the missing coupler and old clutch before i left and everytime you looked around the shop for a few min then gave up and continued cleaning your truck. i sat with my friends that came to help get a base tune because u refused to for over an hour trying to fix the random things that i caught right away. and the first thing my wife checked for was to make sure everything was there so you had plenty of time and opportunity to give me the stuff. You also stopped when we were broken down 15min up the road (which we later found a few out was due to boost leaks that you also refused to test for before me picking the car up) and never said a thing about them. i also have texted you on over 3 occasions over the past 2 weeks to get in touch with you about my parts and i heard nothing from you till you post this.

ended up bringing the car to jnz tuning... so far they found a lot of small stuff wrong with the car and they're fixing pretty much everything and tuning for a great price. they're customer service is awesome and i would defiantly recommend this shop to anyone in the tri state area. would defiantly go back to them!

iffy on dog box had to call them 4 times to get a hold of anyone they still haven't answered my email! Alex is very knowledgeable just wish the customer service was better! They did even sound interested in my business! I would think they would get excited about someone calling to price out a brand new t-case! One of my friends got his car tuned at top level so i would recommend them they did a great job!

I am still waiting on a call, email or even a PM back. I have a trans here that need work!
