I've searched the forum, as well as google for info on lexan windows for a 1G DSM. I came across a couple threads where people talk about how they want to do it, but nothing about people who had lexan or some other material installed.

I found this on flex-a-lite's web page.

Flexite Molded Windows

Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they lexan or some other material? Its nice since its already preshaped for the car, but if it would be lighter to get lexan instead I'd like to know. Im just wanting to do the hatch for now, I don't think the quarter windows would be worth the switch and when I upgrade my setup in a year or sooner I'd also like to swap out the door windows.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

If you've done this or know of a place where I can order a lexan replacement for the hatch glass.

Also if riviting the lexan or whatever is the only/best way to install it.

They're polycarbonate. Lexan is a brand name of polycarbonate products. Like Kleenex vs. tissue, it's all the same thing.

I've sold these for other cars, but I've never used them. They're a very nice product, but a bit pricey. I had considered making my own in the past, but thermoforming isn't easy for the average novice.

There's a good amount of weight to be saved with removing the factory glass. Especially the hatch glass.

Very nice, until now I never knew a product like this existed. Lighting my car is something im going to do over the winter, and for the weight savings in the rear glass, the price isn't actually that bad.

Different sanctioning bodies have different rules for the minimum thickness of poly windows. I strongly suggest doing some research before buying anything.

With that said, the weight savings for the hatch is huge and that's a very bad place for weight.

The FAL molded autoglass are only available for the 1G, they don't currently offer it for the 2G. I contacted FAL about a custom order for 2G FAL molded glass. In no way atleast in my part the http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/custom-fabrication/445669-flexalite-molded-rear-glass.html thread was intended as a group buy etc. I started the thread as a way to check if fellow DSMers here at tuners would have interest in such product in order for me to know if it would be worth it or not to make a custom order myslef. As the thread progressed I learned a fellow dsmtuners member had already made such custom order. So basically I didn't move forward with the custom order myself, and I've been in contact with the member a few times and it looks like he's waiting to hear back from FAL. Im in no way intending on making a group buy etc. Im going to patiently wait a few weeks for the other member to make progress in the order, if not I'll make my own order, take one for me and sell the others at ebay. Please for those who would be interested dont ask for a price as the thread is not a group buy, those who are interested contact via pm the other member or myself if you are interested in such FAL molded speedglass.

What? Im not looking to buy 2g FAL I am looking at 1g...... I asked about weights and that was it..... So why the weird post?

Cory, the post wasnt for you, LOL... I made a thread about custom 2G FAL speedglass a few weeks ago, and it got closed by the moderators cause ppl where asking for price and made it looked like a group buy, which in no way that was the intended purpose of the thread.

Hatch weighs 51.5lbs with o.e glass. With the FAL window it weighs 33.5lbs. The side ones only shave 2lbs each.

And this weighs nothing

Franks fiberglass hatch FAL window kit.

It says 90-94 eagle talon. Figured they were made to fit.

My apologies, the catalog download link wasn't showing on my cellphone, just the applications listed on their website.

Still, this company is more expensive than FAL by about $200 for the same thickness material.
