INSANE runs for sure. It made a lot of those cars look severely insignificant! Literally the match was over just after it had begin.

Great inspiration to stop building other projects and return to my Talon... Well maybe after I finish putting this whipple in my Lightning LOL.

Congrats Jeff and English Racing! I love the fact that you and Jesse have such a good adittude and friendly rivalry going on. Refreshing thing to see in the DSM world. You two are both inspiration to all of us other auto guys.

Good luck with the rest of the season. Will be exciting to see if and when someone breaks into the 7's with an auto.

:hellyeah:

I want everyone to notice not one time did I deploy the chute, Brake Man brakes for the win. Nice Job on the Vid Luke.

Race with the supra was REALLY nice! He was reeling you but if the HG held you might have held him off. Still crazy that the record was set with a part failure like that...

Here is the video

The HG on it did let go right at the end. 1st time we have ever sprayed all the way down. I think it was to lean on the N20. Going to really make it rich next time out. Going to setup the N20 Map different so I can really tune it better on the N20. We went back a jet size on the Fuel after the shoot out due to it spuddering out on the stall and seeming pig rich on the N20 but that was a bad mod for the top end N20 fueling.

Have you tried a progressive unit such as an FJO? It would allow you to taylor the shot (N2O) to what you want on the low end as well as the top.

I noticed this. Which pads are you running Jeff and how well are they holding you at the line while you build the stall? I assume youre using the Ebrake and fronts to do this?

Brakeman brakes are definitely on my list for future mods. Front & rear, not only are they one of the best brakes on the market but also you shave some weight off the car.

Ebrake long gone weights way to much:) just the break men doing the jop.

LIke Luke was saying I removed the E brake long time ago, there's no staging brake either. Just good ole factory "Jeff Spec" foot pedal. Of course there is a pump that aids in the vacuum for more braking power at the line. The Bake Man stuff is all win, I agree with every one they are a grip of money, but in the scheme of things a small price to pay if you want to stop. There has been some attempts to copy their stuff with Willwood crap but in the end I see the stocker stuff go back on because it just not that cool.

Lol I defiantly wouldn't consider wilwood crap. It may just be the wrong brake pads at this point but atleast there is someone working on new products for our cars for those that can't afford the best of the best for our cars. I would say anything it better than no brakes, uh? :thumb:

I am pretty sure your pads are BP10 spec jesse.

I know that if you use a polymatrix type pad with an A or B rating.. you might have a little more grip, during cold start operation i.e you launch area.

the brakeman stuff is awesome, however the wife will kill me If I tell her I want those

Jeff,

I love the video .... holy smokes you were hauling the mail on that run with the supra. I can't even begin to tell you .. how happy I am for you and your team.

We use the stock twin piston with hawk race pads and no brakes on the rear for the lil auto, stops better now then when it had all four

Pad choice does have alot to do with staging the car with cold brakes. Brakeman can have pads of ANY kind made for you with their materials, that alone makes a HUGE difference! We had them make a set of stock pads for a street car we run that was having some issues and that alone made all the difference we needed.

Probably would have had better luck with our Brembos on the racecar had we tried a different pad but seeing the caliper "spread open" when we really applied some pressure on the pedal was enough to remove them LOL.

Congrats again to Jeff, Lucas, Arron, and the whole ER crew. Hopefully I can see this beast run in person on the 25th, I'll bring my slow motion video camera and get some 600Fps and 1200Fps launch shots :hellyeah:

That is insane! So no brakes at all on the rear, stopping a car running 10.2@140mph

I didn't get a chance to really check out Lucas's car or yours at the shootout up close, but I did get to talk with Lucas at Daves shop on Friday. I finally got my car going and will be tuning it here in a week or so.

How is Mike's Modern Automotive Dynamics suspension holding up?

Congrats again on the new personal best!

Awesome. No complaints at all and the weight reduction all helps. We have flat bottomed the car and really started working on the aero this year. The AeroTube that Mike uses in the arms goes a long way to compliment that.

You can also go to a master cylinder with a smaller piston. Most of the 1g's came with a 15/16". The NT's had a 7/8 in some of them (like the 1.8L) which should be good for ~10% more hydraulic pressure. Then you can go to the 13/16" stuff in the older cars like the 80's colt and even a mirage I think I saw. Forget which model but in the early 80's they had a 3/4" master cylinder.

You have to balance the master cylinder to the piston square area of your new brakes as well as pad/rotor selection for more static friction (friction when parts are not moving). Then of course it all has to work when you are moving (kinetic friction). Then it has to keep working and not overheat the pad for the temp range it is designed to be used at or you'll wipe pad material onto the rotor and it'll vibrate on every stop after that until fixed.

Also I'm assuming the caliper isn't flexing....

Sorry for hijacking. Good runs jeff. Hope all the parts hold together for you and you can get some strong passes towards the end of the year.

Of course there is a pump that aids in the vacuum for more braking power at the line.

Do you crank the pressure the pump is set to or even wire it "full on" so that when you depress the brake pedal it turns it on?

Its full on vacuum with the pedal as the switch. So whatever that little pump would normally compress its doing as vacuum with full voltage.
