my brother works for nasa in mission control for the space shuttle and the space station. i have personally met and spoken to most of the astronauts that went to the moon that are still alive. the simple truth of why we never went back was we went it was dust and rocks why waste billions of dollars to go back?

once we found the ice on the moon then it became a different story.


think about it, go on vacation to a desert with nothing but rocks and sand and pay 1 million bucks for it.

with nasa being government funded where our government hasnt seen the need to advance a science we cant directly use they have slowly cut funding over the years to where we could no longer afford to go to space.

every space mission weather to the moon or for the shuttle goes to a review panel that looks at the reason for the trip and the cost. and they either approve or disprove it.


as far as other country's going to space we have shared data and photos and samples of specimens there is no reason to go back.

as far as russia still giving rides to space think about this nasa used to be able to rent a seat on the russian shuttle for 6 million to get supply's or personnel to the space station, with the cancellation of our shuttle program the price jumped to 600 million per seat, not because of them being the only ride but the fear of wearing out the equipment and having to replace it.

the current space shuttles most advanced computer system is made in the 1970s and has the processing power of a 486dx. its the navigational computer. the reason for such low tech in the shuttles is the heat created by more complex equipment and the chance for it to fail.

the average smart phone today is more technologically advanced than the whole space shuttle computer system.

Incorrect. Here is how ridiculous the argument of a conspiracy theorist is.

You will claim, for example, in a picture from the moon landing, that the proof it was faked is that something could not be done. We will use for an example, one singular light source producing a set of shadows and illuminations. Your entire argument is that one light source cannot duplicate such a picture and therefore that is evidence that the photo was faked. Yet you will never take the time to actually try duplicating said image with only one light source under equivalent conditions. You will continuously believe that your stance of "you have to prove it did happen, but I don't have to prove it didn't happen" is a viable argument. It is not and never will be.

Yet they continuously forget that the on-board computer on a shuttle has only one task, navigation, one simple task controlled by known formulas and then it transmits that data to the control center which utilizes sophisticated mainframe computers to calculate trajectories, distances and adjustments needed to be made.

how long was the exposure from 600 miles away? hours weeks months? the saturn 5 rocket traveled at 17500 mph and would have transitioned the belt at it widest point at about 75 minutes. of which the capsule and the space suits were shielded for radiation.

On the return trip the mph was boosted by the slingshot off the moon to around 24500 mph sou it would take less time to return thru it.

The Apollo astronauts traveled through the Van Allen radiation belts on the way to the moon; however, exposure was minimized by following a trajectory along the edge of the belts that avoided the strongest areas of radiation. The total radiation exposure to astronauts was estimated to be much less than the five (5) rem set by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission for people who work with radioactivity
