Let me start by explaining my situation.
I've been taking my time with an e3 16g build for my 93 Talon, so far Ive been having a lot of fun working on it! I put in my 550cc injectors, safc2, e3 16g turbo with an evo 3 exhaust mani and evo 3 o2 housing, new intake with 2g maf, fmic and custom piping (welded as much as possible). I have a wally 255 lph that isnt installed yet and Im waiting for my Wideband to come in. Anyways Ive run into a few problems.
1. School is starting in a few days and I need the car to get to school. Will driving the car with what I have installed and no tune from the safc be safe? (just until I get the wideband and install it to tune)
2. will the stock fuel pump be ok at 12psi (the wastegate is a gt35)
I want to wait for an aftermarket fuel regulator to install the 255.
3. I noticed after I picked up the intake that there is no recirculation valve for it :notgood: would I be ok with open atmosphere for the time being? (I know it runs rich on shifts but its something I plan to replace asap.)
Any help would be amazing guys, I looked around for some answers and found some threads that were kind of related but I just wanted to be 100% sure for my situation.

I wouldn't drive around untuned with larger injectors. If you're going to do this, definitely drop the 450's back in and put the 1G MAS back on....takes five minutes.

Other than that you should be fine- the vented BOV is going to get annoying for daily driving with trying to keep the car from stalling.

Long answer: With a 1g ecu, 2g air meter, 550cc injectors, walbro 255 pump and no AFPR, AND dumping your valve to the atmosphere.. you might as well just plan on your car blowing up.

I hate stalling cars :| I have to get a new intake asap.

The 255 pump isn't in yet but I get that point LOL I wouldn't have even thought of it as an option. The only reason I asked was because I read a thread that said the 550cc injectors and the 2g mas kind of even each other out making it except-able to drive the car without a tune. I never really felt comfortable with the idea though.

I've been venting for a while now, car never stalls out. Smells a little rich, but hey my spark plugs look awesome. 550's with the 2g MAS/MAF on a 1g should be fine, as long it doesn't knock. I wouldn't boost in your temporary driving, though.

I see some people can't read correctly... his 255 isn't installed yet, waiting for the AFPR. Wise choice OP.

SAFC can count knock right? Get a rough tune going, I wouldn't race around.
Generally fuel cut hit's around 15psi on a 16g, 450's and stock fuel pump.

Well I feel a bit better about the intake now, Still iffy about running the car with no tune at 12psi 550cc and 2gmaf. If it wasn't for the wastegate setting boost as 12psi I would be more comfortable running it with no tune for a few days. At 12psi I assume the engine will run pretty lean without a tune.

Every DSM I've owned was vented when purchased. Never had a stall issue between shifts, was more of a washing out rings/smell concern for me.

I've put around 6,000 miles on my car with a e316g @ 12 psi. Stock fuel. Not racing around. Never gone higher than 12.6 AFR. Usually sits around 11.4, was running a lot richer than that when I bought it, but I fixed some boost leaks, and some other codes it was throwing.

16g at wastegate pressure and not driving like an asshat will be fine.

As long as you don't drive with a heavy foot you should be fine. ***however, i hold no responsibility for previous said comment if your engine craps out*** j/k

You have 550's and a 2g maf which pretty much equal each other out, you will be fine. You may actually be running a good tune as long as boost is stock. But like stated it stay out of WOT and you will be fine untill you get your wbo2 and start tuning it out.

My cars running a e316g and was vented until recently, held fine on my AFR, around 12.6 idle.

Now that it's vented sometimes it likes too run onto the rich end (sometimes 15.1) but usually straightens itself back out.

You should be fine, but I would really wait on a AFPR and such too begin driving it a bunch

As stated before u should be fine as long as u drive normaly and watch your boost and A/F levels.

Im running a Small 16g@ 15psi w/rewired fuel pump using diciplined driving with no problems.

Sooooooo to answer your question of the ability to daily drive on your current setup "safely", the answer is yes.
