Im sure other people have had this problem in the past. so im kinda wondering what your guys recommend me doing. and ways to possibly fix this. i bought this car and had it shipped to me. From what it looks, it looks like they welded it fast and threw a sealer on it to cover up open metal. My guess is from me driving the car it broke the welds. This is sorta going to determine the fate of this car. Thanks in advanced.

Get some quotes from a good body shop. Shouldn't be too expensive. My spot welds in that area are cracked. I was quoted $300 with paint. Couldn't be that much to have them fix that.

Sand off all of the paint/coating clean up the sand able rust spots, structural areas will need to be cut out and re welded with new metal. I would recommend taking it to a shop to do that being a suspension support. There has been much much worse posted and fixed to 100% safe operable condition.

Yeah this a pretty common occurence for 2g strut towers rusting out. It looks like some one tried an epoxy resin or fiber glass resin to "hide" the rust, but on a structural body component that see's a lot of torsion and or stress, it needs proper rebuild materials. I've seen some body shops do shoddy jobs on rewelding strut towers so just be aware that you truely get what you pay for when it comes to work such as this.

make sure you look around and get a couple quotes. when it comes to body shops prices will differ quite a bit. find the the right price and a reputable shop.

A good friend of mine has a degree in welding, also went to school for classic car restoration. according to him this is fairly easy for him to fix. Im going to give him a shot. i would rather pay a friend than pay over priced shops for a job that may not pay off. atleast i will be there through the whole project.
