I broke it! This happened at 65ish while logging a 3rd gear pull on ECMLink. Just after the shift to third.

Here is a pic.

Now can I remove the end case for replacement without any drastic measures? This is a Stage 2 TRE transmission. Hopefully everything internally is OK.

I know I'll need to empty the tranny fluid but I need to do that anyway to replace the axle shaft.

Yeah I was helping him with his tune. We were driving from a stop sign. 1st was ok, a bit hard, 2nd pulled even harder and as soon as he dropped the clutch for 3rd, BAM! Loud horrible screeching sound from a tire sitting sideways. Here I am clutching a laptop thinking I'm going to die. <- Only because we were on a bridge. And the guard rail was inches from my face.

We slid for about 1000 feet.

That bolt line he drew up on the picture above. There was a bolt still there. It seems it worked it's way out while driving. Conveniently it has the room to go back enough for the front section of the a arm to fall out. The Axle pulled apart and flopped fish style till it lodged between the body and the end cover on the transmission. Popping a hole in the cover and flipping out. Resulting in an intense ride. Mind you we were full boost (24 PSI) in second at 65 mph. :hellyeah:

Good driving LOL.

We pulled the case. Only 2 things were there besides the 5th gear assembly. A small brass gear and a washer style spring. Luckily all of the oil passages on that side of the transmission were too small for the aluminum to fit through.

The case is being welded shut tomorrow. Assembly and a fill with synthetic should be all that's needed now.

We are going to use a thick grease to hold the gear in place while we assemble the transmission. Anyone know the torque for the end case bolts?

Also, we need a replacement bolt for the lower front of the a arm. Where should we get that at?
