They're fairly expensive in most DSM'ers terms... You also need to send them your compressor cover. Last I heard was $700 for the wheel and cover.

What's the point of running a Holset if you're just gonna put a Bullseye Power compressor wheel in it that costs more than the turbo itself?

Trust me guys they are not going to be priced very high, I know the price of the wheel, but can't disclose that information at this time! I can't wait to do some testing with the new wheel!

Is it still going to count as a Holset record when you have a different wheel on it?

Many FP HTA 35R users still apply their results to 35R records. The compressor cover, center housing, bearing design, turbine wheel, and turbine housing are still the same parts. By your way of thinking we shouldn't be able to apply the results thus far to the Holset record because Dave is using a Bullseye turbine housing.

I posted this on the holset 8 thread: Cummins Performance Parts CPP HX40 or HE351 Batmo is here!!!! Workstock turbo upgrade!
Is this not the same one guys?
It is, but I cannot see how this place can offer a part for sale on their site that Bullseye has not really released to the public yet. Perhaps that's the reason for the inflated price tag....unless they're just feeling to see if they can get big money for it. Also, they make you choose between the HX40 and HE351...but to my knowledge these turbos use the same compressor wheel. Confusing.

My thinking was that it doesn't matter that he has a BEP housing, as long as it's still a HX-40 compressor.

Just like how the 14b guys use the 7cm housing, but changing the compressor wheel would not count for the record.

well it still doesn't make sense to me but there are a lot of things that don't...

We're going to be using the same spec compressor wheel as the 6-blade Holset wheel we're removing...the HTA3586 has a 4mm larger compressor exducer than a standard 35R on top of better aero tech from the billet design which will obviously outflow the standard cast 82mm 35R wheel.

Bullseye is excited to see the results because Dave is one of only a handful of guys who are pushing the HX40 to it's potential on a gasoline application. We already know the car is capable of trapping 145mph on a pass with a soft launch, putting the car in the range of a 9.7 if conditions were perfect. If the car can trap 150mph with the Batmowheel, that's wonderful- it will prove to Bullseye that their wheel is capable of doing so, and it will be done with a Holset HX40 on the car. Not a HX52, not a BW S366....a 60mm Holset HX40.

Congratulations to Dave for setting his new best E.T. of 10.02 at this years DSM Shootout!

Dave worked his ASS off and had the transmission in/out of the car three times while in Ohio for Tim Zimmer of TMZ Performance to tune-up the trans a bit after nearly a year of second gear issues. Some clutch problems were solved and thanks to the help of Tim Zimmer and numerous volunteers who wanted to see this car run on Sunday, a new best E.T. was run at just 33psi..that's 5psi less than the 145.07 pass at Pittsburgh Raceway earlier this year.

I'm very impressed and thankful for the way the masses came together and helped Dave out last evening just so he could run today. Definitely shows the class and strength that our community contains.

:hellyeah::hellyeah:

What was his MPH? Got any videos?

That is no joke! There were about 10 guys helping Dave change his clutch, it was in and out in a blink! Congrats on the new personal best Dave! So close to 9's!

I've got video of a couple of his runs from today that I will be uploading soon including a 10.15 pass but unfortunately I didn't film the 10.02 pass. I'm sure someone has it though.

Damn, I was hoping, as I'm sure everyone was, that he was going to get that 9-sec slip. Glad to hear about the comradery. That's a class act!!! Hopefully soon Dave. Congrats on the new E.T. :hellyeah:

So many DSM celebs in this pic!

There's Gooberlog in the lower righthand corner, Calan next to the front axle, talondsp1 next to Craig in the blue shirt, dacowgod under the hood on the passenger's side, and Lofty by the passenger door!

Dave was looking to get to the last round of the Bracket 1 class and perhaps even take home the trophy, but a .009 red light halted his efforts one round too soon. We'll get 'em next year. ;)

LOL I think you mean DSM cartoon characters. ROFL

But don't forget yourself (jusmx141) who was probably just off camera making a beer grab at the moment, and 9!'clipseDOHC who shot the pic. ;)

Congrats to Dave on the 10.02!

I was jumping up and down as it went down the track (sure as hell looked like he had it), and then a little bummed when it came oh so close. Still an extremely good run though!

Nice. Great runs. I missed the 10.02 run. I left early. the trans was giving me problems and its pushing coolant again. Very frustrated. It was nice meeting you and justin. Its cool to put a face to a name. I got a new personal best of 10.57@137.

Thanks guys! I want to thank everyone that helped me tear the trans out and switch the clutch, and put it all back together! You guys are awesome!!!

If anyone has videos of my runs, please post them up, even if someone has the same pass, but at a different angle, i still want to see it... I forgot both of my cameras at the hotel sunday morning.

Thanks

I know that I got at least one of your launches in slow mo right at the line. And Im pretty positive SlantedJ got your passes with his camera. However, itll take a while for him to get all the footage sorted out. Ill make sure you get to see them though!

By the way, congrats on the runs. Wish you could have made a 9 second pass, sooo close! Also It was great to meet/hang around and bs with you guys!!
