Well if you really like it go ahead and do it, but it would be easier to find a GST spyder, maybe with a blown engine or something, and since you have a GSX and want to swap stuff over might as well to the drivetrain and make it a Spyder GSX =), thats the best reason to do an AWD swap, because you can just buy a normal GSX but you can't buy a GSX Spyder

someone needs to figure out a way to extend those bolts in the back so you can mount the rear subframe. such a bi***... theres like no clean way to do it.

no ones going to do it for 300 dollars. Even if I had time I wouldnt do it for 300 dollars, and I'm the cheapest mechanic you can find. HAHAHA

well how much will you do it for? i jast need the swap && make the car run

whats gonna happen with the gsx? are you willing to sell it without an engine?

well i dont know jet ...but thats my plan

It's not "just a swap", although since you have a donor car, you've got most of what you need. Basically: long-block (plus I/C, piping, etc), turbo ECU, and wiring for the knock sensor.

(A lot of folks will have the idea that this is a harder swap than it is, because they assume you have a 420a, rather than a 4g64. This should only be moderately more difficult than a straight engine swap, assuming available donor parts.)

This is for swapping in a 6-bolt, but it at least gives an idea of what's involved: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...5684-how-convert-4g64-spyder-6-bolt-4g63.html

If I were quoting this (and were still equipped to do work like this), I'd be quoting it strictly as an hourly rate plus parts, with no estimates of how long it might take. These cars are OLD, and usually haven't been well-cared-for; stuff is going to break in interesting ways as it comes apart and goes back together, and you'll be down while you wait for replacements. Plan accordingly.

(Personally, though, I think you're ruining a perfectly good '99 GSX. :()
