I can't decide on which dsm i want. I've had 2 1g's already. I love those cars. I would like something newer looking. But the 2g body isnt the best looking. I just cant decide, so can my fellow DSMer's help me make up my mind?!:hellyeah:

2g body not the best looking? It's incredibly curvy! Either way, if you don't like the 2g look, considering they have the same engine (whether 6bolt or 7bolt) why don't you just buy a 1g (just better taken care of) which you apparently like since you've had 2 in the past.

well me personally i love the 1g, but the way i think of it is the 1g body seems more of a drag car and the 2g is a daily driver LOL but either way they are both good looking in my eyes

Well your options are pretty much limited. If you want something newer than a 1g, then that pretty much only leaves the 2g. It's also rare to hear that someone doesn't like the looks of the 2g. To each his own. You could always swap a 4g63 into a 3g??? Just kidding.

As far as 2g's you have 2 options. The Talon vs. The Eclipse. The Talons in my opinion look a lot more aggressive specially the 97 up. However, other than the bumpers, door molding, and the rear wing everything else is the same. 1g's are a better built car, 2g's look better.

Well if looks are the biggest thing on your list then go with a 2g.. If its speed then go with a 1g as there lighter and generally come with a """"more reliable motor"""..
me personally id go with a 1g but thats ### there isnt a lot of them around, they are able to be just as nice, and they have less rice appeal then the oh so sexy 2g's..
BEST OF BOTH WORLD.....evo 8-9

But this was done by a AMS mechanic, no joke. Its a blue 3g that has been in the reader's rides in Import tuner. I have the article in my files, I'll try dig it out snap a picture of the engine bay, for you.

1g looks will not get you laid, 2g's will
1g doesn't look fast, 2g does
2g interior is cheaper than the 1g (imo)
2g has a wider stance (improved handling on pavement)
awd swap is easy on 2g, not easy on 1g
1g is cheaper to buy, 2g is more expensive
2g gets cop's attn, 1g doesn't as much
1g is subtle, 2g is flashy
1g is good in the dirt, 2g is not

Good luck amigo :thumb:

I'm sure it's been done. Anything is possible with the proper knowledge and drive. I was just saying that if he wanted something newer than a 1g, but didn't like the 2g, then that leaves only the 3g and the stupid 4g. My new nick name is, "Captain Obvious!!"

Personally i love the 2g body. There are a lot of good looking 2gs out there. I own a 2g now and im really looking into getting a 1g just to have it and drive. It weighs less then the 2g.

+1 haha easy sum up

You say you already have two 1G's... Hopefully they are an Eclipse and Talon... If that is the case then you might want to consider finding a Laser and completing your collection.

The only advantage the 2g has over a 1g is areodynamics, other then that 2g's are a POS in my opinion and there is a reason everyone swaps 1g parts into them. And it is a given that at some point your 2g front strut mounts/wheel wells will rust out and cause huge problems, it's only a matter of time. 1g all the way!

What ever there is less of in your area. I hate driving and seeing my car drive by like 3 times haha. I drive a Mitsubishi endeavor

Taller than 6'3"? ;)

I'd consider a 2g if I were a midget or a woman... :p

Yea what cars exactly have you had talon, laser, eclipse? What do you plan on doing with it like drag, autox, whatever?
