Hi Fellows!
Long time since I last posted. I used to own a DSM 2g when lived in U.S. now I am in Brazil and have a forged 5 cylinder 2.0 Fiat Marea Turbo. It made 459whp @ 27psi on Ethanol (92% pure E in Brazil). Didn't go more because lacked injectors...
If you are curious videos of the car can be seen here: Marea Turbo - Stage 1 by Bordin Motorsports - YouTube
My old turbo GT3582R but started making some noises from the bearings... Well, f***!!! It died on me...
Well, I'm broke and my car is not running. I need a new turbo, wanted to go FP3586 HTA but I'm broke. I think of buy that later next year when I have money.
Right now... I need a cheaper turbo that will perform similar to a 35r. My car revs to 8500 and as an old 35r on .82 housing I don't mind a little delay on spool.
My main choice was a Holset HW40 but on eBay all I can find on HX40 looks fake for like 350 dollar. Bottom line is... I can't find a good reliable source to buy a Holset HX40 online. Can someone point me to one? I'm not concerned about the hot t4 housing, I can swap it out here myself, it can be what it comes with in original form, but it has to be a genuine Holset...
If I can't find it I think I'm going with the journal bearing series of the Precision turbos. What is your experience with those? The 6262 looks good but on journal bearings it may be a bit too laggy, maybe a 5857 on journals, anyone running that, what kind of power?
To the specs I would like on a turbo:
Cold side .70
Inlet: 4" (already have intake pipe)
Outlet: 2.5" (matches my FMIC piping)
Inducer: around 60mm
Hot side (.82 -- i will swap my own housing, not a biggie)
Turbine wheel around 64mm
Can someone point me out where to buy anything like that or a similar option? Has to be a reliable turbo I have big injectors now and going to run 30psi+ on it
Thanks a bunch guys!
