I am trying to find a wiring diagram that goes from the cluster to the sensors. I have found a pinout of the gauge cluster as shown below. What I am lookin for though is where the wires run as in do the go to the ecu then the sensors or just straight to the sensors. If they run straight to the sensors which side of the fire wall do they run through? I have searched everything I can think of. I have the fsm and the elec supplements but the only think I found in the FSM on the 96 Talon FSM elec they are called Instrument panel wiring harness and J/B combination. I cant find anything that shows where they go from there.

Anyone know if the gauges like temp, oil pressure, fuel, speed-o, and tach go through the ecu before the cluster? I am pretty sure the fuel dont. I am not sure on the rest. I am installing my stand alone and need to fig out how to wire up as much as I can on the gauge cluster.

Oil and coolant have there own sensors separate from the ECU. Fuel goes to the fuel sender.
Boost is driven by the ECU itself, same with the Tachometer.

To my knowledge all the wiring passes through the passenger side of the wire wall.

I found wiring diagrams for VSS, oil light, oil gauge, and temp guage. All go straight to cluster. VSS branches off to ECU and TCU. From what I have found the Tach does too.

There are a few connectors that run from all over the car to the gages. I have a complete dash, under dash and most of the rear harness from my wrecked car in a box and have recently redone the entire front wire harness. Ask for a specific light/gauger and I can probably tell you where it goes.

Here are most of them...

Tach
From coil - threw engine harness - splits one goes to ECU other goes to one of the connectors behind the radio - then to gage

Speed
From sensor - threw engine harness- splits one goes to ECU, one to auto trans, other goes to one of the connectors behind the radio, splits again one to ALDL, one to Convertible top, one to Auto cruse - back to one of the connectors behind the radio - then to gage...

Coolant tamp gage
threw engine harness- to one of the connectors behind the radio - then to gage

Coolant tamp sensor (for ECU)
threw engine harness - to ECU

Oil Pressure gage
From sensor - threw front car wiring harness - into car next to fuse box under dash - to gage

Low Oil Pressure switch
From switch - threw front car wiring harness - into car next to fuse box under dash - to light

Fuel level gage
From sensor - threw rear car harness - to connector near fuse box under dash - threw main harness under dash - to one of the connectors behind the radio - to gage

CEL
From ECU - threw engine harness to one of the connectors behind radio - to light

Boost gage
From ECU - threw engine harness to one of the connectors behind radio - to gage

Exactly what I was lookin for man thanks. Thats what I was thinkin after lookin at some of the wiring diagrams that I have found.

Way to go Mike96. Give that man some rep points! I just separated and moved a bunch of my harness and sensors around in my car to hide stuff and clean up the engine bay. This could help out alot for trouble shooting. Thanks.
