Travis, Im gonna go the same route as you. HX35 or 40. Whichever i can get ahold of. Tubular manifold and external waste gate. Probly only gonna push 25 pounds. With HKS 272 profile cams. and maybe E85. But thats gonna be a few years down the road. Till then one thing at a time. Such as this.

Sounds like a good plan. Once you get all of the little stuff out of the way and start doing some good mods it will be worth it. I think i was running 26-27psi on my HX35 on a stock engine. Once you see what 25 feels like you're going to want more. I'm running my boost in the low to mid 30's on race gas and it feels so much better than 27 on a pump gas tune. I would have like to gone with a T3 tubular manifold and a stock dodge T3 housing with my HX35, but money kept me from buying a pricey t3 manifold.
Just a heads up for you to help with your decision process, last night i got a new best MPH at Capitol: 123.25 My E/Ts didn't get any better though because i was testing out the anti-lag feature which was making me spin of the line and bog in to first gear. Also getting my car in to fourth gear at 8,000+ rpm still took some finesse. I lowered the anti lag but i think i'm building too much boost on the line because i was letting the clutch out at a good rate but it seemed to be building too much boost at the line. I tried lowering the anti-lag RPM setting but didn't get enough runs to play with it more.

So are you racing at the shoot out then? What all needs to be done to the car? Does the car idle and drive around town ok or is it way off on the tune? What fuel do you plan to race on with the new set up? And more importantly why leave on Thursday when the rest of us are leaving Friday morning?

Not much action in this thread so maybe i can spice things up a bit. For those i haven't talked to I got my car running again after being down a few weeks with bent valves from my miss shift. In the process i upgraded to a nice set of dual valve springs that i got for a good deal from a friend. I was anxious to go back to the track and test things out and try to set a new HX35 bolt on record, but things have been pretty busy for me lately. I'm kind of enjoying not having to worry about my car too much right now and worry about having to work on it every night after long hours at work to finally get it out of my buddies garage. I'm moving to Elkridge for a little while starting Oct 15 we can start moving in and we are doing closing on our house at the end of the month.

Things on my agenda coming up soon this season:
1) spectate at the NJ showdown on Oct 15
2) find time to install new fuel set up and tune for E85 and more boost
3) find time and place to drop rear subframe and install polly bushings and toe eliminator arms
4) try to beat HX35 bolt on record of 11.2

What all do you guys have going on and planned for your car that you want to share with the locals?

I was wondering why i saw you selling that 20G. That HX40 is going to make your car haul donkeys! I'm down for a meet, I'll be busy this weekend at the showdown and starting to move to Elkridge this Sunday, probably more moving the next weekend as well.
