Hey. I got a new car a couple of days ago. I bought it about 75 miles from my home and the drive home was sweet! These cars can scoot. It's basically stock and has 150k on it. I got it for $2,400 (is that ok?).

I'm not much of a mechanic but I aim to change that starting now. This car has inspired me and I want to tune it up a bit. I think the first thing to address might be the transmission. I didn't notice until I drove it a few times but it makes a stange noise when you let off the gas at higher rpms and grinds occassionally when downshifting.

The body and interior are pretty clean with the exception of the headliner, the rear headrests, and the sunroof doesn't open automatically. Other than that, she's pretty tight. I decided to name her Trixie after Soeed Racer's girlfriend ;)

Anyways, here are some pictures...

Thanks guys.

Nice galant. Looks like its all stock. :thumb: good buy. Where in nor cal are you?

Thanks. I'm in the Sacramento area.

I found an interesting forum thread where a previous owner was selling my car. It looks like he had a rough time finding a new owner for it. I'm not sure who he ended up selling it to because I bought it from a smog shop who got it from a guy who didn't pay his bill, so I'm told.

I found out a little more about the car by reading his posts. It sounds like the transmission may still be under warranty from when it was rebuilt. Reading the thread also revealed the cause of the noise that I hear when decelerating. He said in a post, "Also needs the rearmost driveshaft carrier bearing as its causing some noise on deceleration".

Nice find, I think it might have been my friends, friend who sold it to you.

I also am a new vr4 owner. The cool thing about these things is what you said, you can search the number and find all kinds of info from previous owners on em.

Goodluck with it!
