if you really want it to shine get a clay bar from the brand clay magic or something like that wipe an area down with a soapy wet sponge and then press somewhat hard with the clay bar and go over the entire car that will get all the dirt tar oversprayed paint anything off the car then put a small amount of wax on a buffer and go over the whole car and last get the brand ICE wax its in a cylinder container and its blue it might come with a pad for applying i cant remember but just put some on the pad in a circular motion go al the way around the car with it and then with a extra soft rag or microfiber cloth wipe it all off and ull be blinded by the glare i detail cars all day so i have my experience

I agree with many of you.

Store bought?
mothers clay system, meguairs m105, meguairs m205, meguairs NXT

Internet?
clay, m105, m205, blackfire or any other high end sealant, finish with a light coat of pinnacle soverign

NXT is not a wax. It is a synthentic. There is a difference. The biggest being that it lasts up to two times longer inbetween coverage.

I'm going to attempt the first wax this weekend. I'm gonna go with the Mothers step 1, 2 and 3 that we sell at my job to see how it works out. Hopefully it comes out nice LOL I'll keep you guys updated and put some pics up! Thanks for your inputs guys!

I have the mothers 3 step system and it does a great job, and provides a nice finish. I would also pick up the clay bar kit as well, and use it before the 3 step. I did and it makes a world of a difference.

Also at the local Walmart they carry Meguiars kits that contain everything you need for a good detail job. They have two different kits, one is a paint restoration kit, and the other is paint finishing kit.

I like the Meguires NXT tech wax but it doesn't seem to last very long. I've yet to try 2.0.

The eagleone detailing spray is fairly great. I love being able to "wash" my car with it. Takes me 20min, not the advertised 5min, but at least it's not a full 1-2 hour wash and wax.

I paint cars as a profession. I find that buffing and a spray on wax works the best when your trying to get the best shine out of your paint, rub on waxes can never do as good of a job as a good buffing. if you have a black car (like me) meguiars has a special black spray wax that with buffing will make almost all light scratches invisible. :)

I have a shelf full of this.

Swissvax

Ok, maybe not. I generally use Meguire's, but I'm thinking about picking up some Zaino, P21, or Pinnacle for the new car.

I do agree clay bar.
And MeGuairs, Mothers, Turtle wax for the wash.

Anybody remember TR3 Resin Glaze ? That stuff works great.

But now I do use ICE from Turtle I think.
It goes on EASY, comes off easy, works in sunlight
or at night.

Where I am the sun is brutal, regular waxes are a problem to put
on and get off.

I still use TR3 Resin Glaze. But the ICE is awesome for fast waxing.

ive used the turtle wax lower end zip wax and car wash stuff, meguiars and mothers chrome polish and the gold carnauba wax,and a cheaper brand called NuFinish, worked great on my white bagged s10, took out alot of the defects u could see by eye, but overall id have to say that it is a personal choice on brand and budget range, usually, u pay for what you get, but like people have said above meguiars and mothers are fairly cheap for what you get as an outcome if you follow directions :thumb:

I've used clay bars before but you normally need to follow up with a good polish and then wax. I've found the best thing to do is use Meguiars Ultimate Compound followed by Meguiars Nxt Gen Tech Wax, paste form if you can find it. The Compound is a compound and a polish. It cleans off old wax and imperfections just like clay bar, but isn't as harsh, and it's easier. It takes some elbow grease w/ it though. In summer, I'll compound once a month then wax every wash, which equates about 2-4 times a month. Looks like showroom floor new still.
