Yes I've just been really busy lately. Is there a lot of interest in the poly version?

I can't speak on behalf of everyone but I'd definitely buy a poly version of these. It seems that a lot of people are going the poly route to decrease noise as most DSM's are DD's/weekend warriors.

I really like this design. If I was to break anything and have to drop my rear end I would definitely pick a set if these up. At the moment I'm not making any power to really need the and drop my whole rear end. Looks like these were extremely well made. Props to you sir.

I will be welding my tab to the sub-frame. Will it be extremely loud when installed? I will be replacing OEM rear bushing with 2G 3 poly Rear Differential Bushings. I will have 1 extra bushing to use or adapt to the rear mount to reduce noise.

Bringing this back up as i'm wondering if these would still be a necessity if run on an auto car as i believe most of you guys posting are running some form of a manual trans correct?

Product looks good the poly version sounds nice as well i know BR did the same for the Evo recently.

On an auto you could get away with just some good poly replacment bushings like the ones RRE sells, but these would be that insurance policy.

Also on the Poly version, Boston contacted me about comming up with a simple solution for a poly version, so we might be working together to develope the poly version, if theres really alot of people who want a poly version chime in becasue the more poly sets produced at the same time will bring the overall cost down. some of you know that i already make quite a few polyurethane parts so i can tell you that the poly versions of these will be just as strong as the full billet pieces but will cut back on the noise

I hoipe you dont mind me butting in Boston

Thanks
Adam

also it is possible to retrofit the already solid ones with polyurethane, but it will require them to be sent in for this

My original prototype set are at the machine shop and I gave him the corrected dimensions and he'll have them back to me by beginning of next week. Noise results coming soon :thumb:.

If the poly ones are just as strong, why would anyone want the full aluminum ones? Unless its just because they would be cheaper? Just a curious question.

Yes they will be cheaper and if it's a track car then why not?

I also strongly recommend that if you're going with the poly side mounts then do NOT put aluminum subframe bushings in that go to the diff cover. The cover bushings need to flex more than the side mounts to keep from breaking the cover.

Poly diff mounts are done! I'll be installing them sometime this week to test the harmonics.

+1! I want to know about the sounds too!

Not worth the extra $60 it costs to do this. The solid mounts do generate some gear whine but if you have any kind of exhaust system on your car, you wouldn't even know the solid mounts were installed. Not to mention my Quartermaster clutch howls my entire drivetrain on decel.

The differential would probably start getting really noisy if the subframe was solid mounted to the car, but it's not. There are rubber bushings that isolate the noise.

The solid mounts are going back in. I'll be running these with polyurethane bushings for the diff cover. IMO this is the best combo for any 2g with the factory subframe, because the polyurethane will allow SOME flex to keep the diff cover from breaking while the aluminum mounts up front will hold it solid.

Where are you getting poly bushings for the diff cover? I'm installing a FF diff cover in the next few weeks and snagging a set of poly bushing for it before the install would be nice.

Thanks for the review. I've got solid rear subframe and rear diff mounts going on and I was a little worried about the extra noise but as you mentioned, between the exhaust note and ACT Twin Disk my car already howls like its broken on decel.

Or are you just calling these diff cover bushings?

Alright, just making sure there wasn't something else out there for the diff cover itself. I've got those as solid bushings, hopefully I won't regret getting them rather than the poly, not for noise but for the "give" in the poly so the diff doesn't break (as you mentioned above). If there isn't any "give" with these solid ones hopefully the FF diff cover keeps everything in place, shitting rear ends isn't on top of my to do list. :barf:

The Frontline Fabrication rear diff cover works like a champ in conjunction with Boston's rear diff mounts, and solid bushings. I have solid subframe and rear diff bushings with a clutch type differential, so it is a bit noisy, but no problems in over a season of use.

Great product again Boston! Thank you for continuing new product innovation in the DSM Community!

I recently installed/welded the bracket and two (solid) diff mounts. Installation took about 35-40 minutes as most of the time was spent on finding the right bolts I did everything with my GSX on a lift and without removing anything from the car besides the one mount that was replaced.

The product looks great and fitment was A+. I held off on subframe bushings (I do have solids awaiting) and a FF rear diff cover. I want to see what the actual two mounts can handle. My 2G just put down 680whp at 36psi on a MD with E85. Dynojet numbers would yield 700+. I felt the tune was spot on with about 20psi on the 2 step and NLTS set up great. On kill mode, the car could easily squeeze out a tad more. This weekend I will put it to the test after mounting 26in M&H Racemaster Radials and launching the car on a prepped track. Axle, cover, mount....which will break first?

Great product nonetheless Boston! I would have appreciated mounting bolts (3 that mount to diff) and 1 thru bolt. Maybe that could be included in future kits. If you do have a bolt kit, I would love to purchase it so the part is official.

Thanks for the space to write a review!

Did you test the two front aluminum mounts with the stock bushings on the rear? I would like to see how that performs as I am thinking about leaving the stock rear bushings as they are in good shape. Its either leave them stock or upgrade to the poly bushings which I can't see helping a ton when I already have the two solid front mounts.

I finally finished my rear subframe up and figure I would post up a few pics of the finished product. This makes the rear diff solid and is very easy to do. I will let the pics do the talking.

Yes I'm still making these. I just finished a new set of poly mounts for the street warriors.
