My FWD update is that I may be buying a AWD tomorrow :) . Ill still have my problematic FWD though.

Bought to get my axles in this weekend from terhune race works!! Tuned the car for more boost going to be running 24psi for aug 6 races. Looking to get into the 12's this time. Cars been running great and is making my subie friend sweat LOL, his best so far is 12.83 and i'm right on his heals. Next upgrade will probably be vrsf fmic and 850 injectors, need some more fuel to get some more outta this turbo.

what happened with your car. I haven't much free time recently..

I still havnt taken it to get looked at yet. I did help a friend remove and instal a tranny in his gsx 4 times last sunday...he couldnt get the ball shimmed correctly at first.

My car is running good, how ever im looking to fix my lock out issue soon, im also going a diff. route with the fuel setup as well....

i dont know what size slicks they are this tire shop told me he could hook me up with some if i put his logo on my car just wanted to know what would be recomended

I run 26x8.5x15's they HOOK very well, although @ my power level (430whp) im sure 24.5's would be fine, how ever when i do turn the boost up im sure the extra tire will help!

For you im sure 24.5x8.5/9x15's would be fine.....

16x6.5? How wide are your slicks?

If I can reuse my 16" rims for slicks I'll be able to get the slicks much sooner as I won't have to buy new rims.

26x9.5x16 QTP's. I cut anywhere from 1.7-1.8 60fts consistently with a stock open diff tranny with these slicks. Since they are not a true slick and are street legal, I use them on the street too. They hook nice in 2nd.

Damn man,.your 10.9 et was on a stock tranny with no kind of lsd?

Also I had a proper jack to gey under the car yesterday... I added some fluid to find the tranny leak and it is behind the flywheel. It has yo come out for inspection...im on my way to pick up the new dsm right now.

ya bone stock 225k mile tranny. I just picked up a lsd though so we will see how much it improves my 60fts when I get the car running again.

Are you just going to swap your motor over to the new Dsm?

You run BBG?

ya I use dsmlink's BBG. About 15-17lbs in first, 30lbs in 2nd, and 35lbs in 3rd/4th.

I've been finally doing some work on my FWD. So far:

6 bolt 2.3L stroker
Wiseco 8.8:1 Pistons
Manley Rods
1mm O/S valves
Supertech Dual Springs
FP3x Cams
FIC 750's
ECMLink v3 Lite
EVO8 MAS
ETS 7" Street FMIC

Still on stock turbo and manifolds for now. Running about 10psi, I have a Evo8 FP on the way that I picked up cheap for the time being so I can turn up the boost, still needing a wideband.

I'm not sure what I want to do for the turbo yet. I'd really like to go the Holset route, preferably an HX-40. But if I pickup a really good deal on a 20g or similar turbo I may just run that for awhile.

Im not currently planing on switching the motor over. I really need to find out whats wrong with the tranny first though... If I'm lucky it will just be that seal in the middle but with my luck I'm sure its not.

I really need to get the GST running again at least for a little while to see if the slow acceleration problem is fixed because I found that my Cam angle sensor was 180* out so I've flipped it but I haven't gotten to drive the car yet.
Also there was no bolt holding the sensor in place so it could move around a little bit on its own.

180 out:

Here is another one - I guess because I still have not gotten to the track, just the dyno. Pretty sure the car now would run in the low-mid 12s as currently built (see profile info) and from a roll I KNOW ;) it can hang with and in most cases stomp most other cars including alot of AWDs.

Great tires and a quaife make a ginormous difference with a GST when you are making a good bit of power.

Sounds good!

And you cant be mad if the trans goes, i mean 225k she has done her job more then once!

I might pick this up for the price....Anybody use this LSD?

I have that one in my built TRE tranny. It seem to hold up fine but I have a tranny issue right now. It and the diff may be the culprits but I wont know till it comes out.
It has never seen less than 400whp either.

For the price i cant argue!

The only thing that scares me is a axle breaking during a pass and getting the steering wheel ripped outta my hands @ 120+mph, i have heard it can happen but i have no proof.....

You will rip that diff to shreds. I promise you!! Get a wavetrac or quafie. You wont ever worry about them..... Im switching to auto because once I went over 650whp those trans started to shred. But my quafie has came through it every time. I hope to see you at OSW in dec for war of the imports, youve got 5 months to be ready.

If you break an axle i doubt you will hit the wall. And I highly doubt you will break one past 2nd gear. The only time I broke an axle it was at the start line and the lsd trys to compensate, meaning the car wouldnt move so we pushed it back to the trailer.

Just another LSD Insert. I had one and I was only making low 300s whp when I blew my open dif on slicks on my 2nd launch. Blew a tooth right through my bell housing. These don't add any strength to your dif, they only give you a little bit more traction.
