Hell I know for a fact there is a guy on tuners that is 60+..And some of the members on here are also in their 40's..

Your never too old to have fun..your never too old to love cars..Even if the cars are dsm's.

Why do you think all the muscle cars are still hot 40+ years after they came out..Cause it's a love for automobiles thing..

Some will say well wake your ass up have a family and buy a mini van..Then after the kids are gone get your toys..LOL

Well I'm 67 until September, 3rd oldest on here. Back in 93 I got my AWD Laser from a kid with toooooo many speeding tickets. Bear in mind, I grew up in the muscle car era. In the 90s, there wasn't any muscle cars. The Talons, Eclipses and Lasers were just about the fastest things around.

Since then, just haven't been impressed with any thing else out there. Besides mine is paid for and is still just as fast and as dependable as most cars coming off the assembly line and doesn't require me to fork out $40K.

Like Tunatalon, may have to reconsider things when I turn 70, maybe 75.

Had one (family, that is)...... the kids couldn't stand the damn minivan, wife couldn't stand the DSM (or me).

The kids love riding in the DSMs on the weekends (child visitation periods).

BTW, I'm 39. I've been working on them since they were new (at the dealership), I've owned my Laser RS since '98, and I don't ever plan on not having one (or three).

Unfortunately, though, they do seem to be some effective sort of chick repellant. Of coarse, that could just be my winning personallity.

I think that's BS, I get that from some people that know. I'm 54 and I've had my 99 GSX since early 2000, it was 13 months old repo'd off a lease. It has 15,567 miles and I plan to keep it till i have to push it around. It now has 178,452 miles and still no crankwalk....knock particleboard.

I'm 25 and have only driven DSMs since I was 16. I just caved and picked up a Civic for a DD but I still have my first turbo Laser RS and TSI AWD. I need to sell the Laser but I just can't bring myself to do it.

I am only 32, been into these cars since I was 21, RX-7's before that. I think I will have my 2g for another decade or so.

I am 27 here and I just sold my tsi but i still have my 2gb gst

So the other day I was told that im too old to be messing with these cars, I just turned 26 in march and have owned dsms' sinve I was 18. I do love these cars, so I was wondering what the average age of the dsm scene is.

45 years young here!!:hellyeah: I DD mine, always will. You are never to old:thumb:

Im 25 with a 2 year old and a wife myself. Its imposible to be to old to enjoy any vehicle that you love, its a car thing LOL. Hell, i worked with a guy who also grew up in the muscle car era, and he loved when i brought my mags in. He would say....the only difference is you have a computer and 4 less cylinders, different STROKES for different folks LOL. Btw, he just turned 65 and has had his 66 pontiac tempest since his parents gave it to him...they bought it new for 2400 dollars!!!!!!

Ugh.

``You`re too old...``

Uh-huh. And, who are these pundits dealing out this sage advice? Let`s establish whether you should give two, ah, shakes about these folks` opinions. Seriously, highschool is where it matters to be ``cool`` in the eyes of your peers.

This thread should be entitled: ``My co-workers (friends, whoever) are insecure/cliquey/opinionated/attention-starved, etc``

Keep having fun with the DSM!

I`m 40, and an elementary school teacher!:D

Now that's what's up.

You're never too old for cars - someone probably though you were too old to mess with "those little rice rockets", but that's a load of crap. An engine is an engine and a car is a car. Never. Too. Old.

I am 32 and just got my first dsm last year. i will never sale this car. in a few years when my Harley is paid off i will buy a new DD, i will drop my race saturn and have the TSI takes it place. i hope to have a 4g63 tell the day i die.
