I had my battery die and I have DSMLink on it, How do you reset the ECU with the DSMLink? I took my battery out to charge it, and I lost power to my dome light, diagnostic port, foot lights, door ajar signal, and ignition signal. I had a mobile mechanic come by and he said I would have to have my ecu reset to factory. I am afraid Im going to lose my DSMLink and tune. HELP!! :hmm:

Yeah, your info is saved in the ecu. It's a computer, when you unplug your computer do you lose all your valuable information? Nope, it is saved.

If the OP has v2, since he's a 2g owner all of the DSMlink settings he applied that differ from what the chip was burned with when originally ordered will be lost. One ok thing about this is if you were the original purchaser and have the same size injectors, you can usually drive ok on it for a bit if you don't have your laptop with you at the time. If you don't, then I wouldn't even try starting it.

To reapply them, open up your latest log and if using v2, and go into each option (Fuel, MAF Comp, Timing, and so on down the list) and resave all the settings to the ECU. If using the v3 application (which I highly recommend), open the latest log, go to one of the tabs (Fuel, MAF Comp, Timing, etc.) and click the "Copy all to ECU" button. That will save all setting for all tabs.

I have the V2, if I have the tune saved to my computer will I be able to load it right back on? And how would I reset my ECU? I am not getting power to my diagnostic port.. I cant plug my computer up to the ecu, The ecu does not read my computer is attached?

If you have v2, it will revert back to the original settings BURNED on the chip.

So you turn car key to on position, plug laptop, open the log which contains the tune you want, and do something like ECU>>>SAVE/LOAD>>>>SAVE TO ECU.

And that's it...I'm still rocking v2 from 2006...

You don't need to do anything else; as far as your diagnostic port, that's a whole other issue...

Only somewhat related, but has anyone ever tried one of those things you plug into the cigarette lighter with a 9v battery and see if the tune is saved after reconnecting the battery?

That would be a handy thing to have for V2 users if it works.

To the OP if you donte have power to those parts of your car id check your fuses first.
On a side note ive used those cigarette power savers while changing batterys and all the presets stayed. Idk if it would be different for keeping dsmlink settings but I dout it.
