I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Android app, Torque as a data logger. All you need is the app and a OBD II Bluetooth adapter which only costs about $50. Which is considerably cheaper than other options. I just want to know if anyone uses or has used this and what their thoughts on the product is. Is it a good buy or a cheap attempt?

Do a quick search i was just looking at some stuff about data logging on the iphone on but im not sure how accurate it is. If they have it on the iphone im sure they have something similar on a driod.

Well,

1 of 2 things.. Either the answer is still out there..

or no one knows...

Doesn't mean you need to reply asking the same question within 2hrs..

Yes, they have the app on the Android Market. Just trying to find out if it is worth a darn before forking out $50 for the adapter to run the application.

Oh ok must have read it wrong. Well from what I read about the iPhone app and cable it was decent not as good as a link or anything but decent.

The one I was looking at was called ot-2. Check it out. It's more like 175 though. Not sure if it was droid capable though.

Well I have the innovate motorsports ot-2 data logger and its good I use it on my ipod and laptop its a good bit of kit and worth the money for a starter kit! There are cheaper loggers out there but you get what you pay for! Plus its MTS compatible so I have my A/F kit connected to it aswell! Plus this kit also clears engine lights and that's a good to have. I only brought this as the ecm link v3 wasn't released yet and mine isn't socketed. But I'm still using it to date as its great

I have that adapter and the torque app running on gingerbread 2.3.3 unfortunately it did not work. The phone was able to hookup with the bluetooth adapter, but it keeps throwing an error message saying that the adapter cannot talk with the ECU. I was wondering if the adapter i got was faulty, does the kiwi plx adapter work? can anyone chime in on this? it's either that or i was just unlucky with bt adapter that i got.

I have Torque and the obd-II bluetooth on my 2G. Pays for itself after the first "Check engine" light comes on. Case in point, one night I was cleaning under my hood, nothing major. Next day I go to start my car and it's misfiring real bad, undriveable. CEL comes on, Torque tells me the code, tells me what it was "Misfire cylinder 4" so I pull the wire on plug 4 (which was wet) so I blow my air compressor into all four plug wells and cleared the code on Torque. Was on the road not even 5 minutes later.

Has a lot of fun things it can tell you, I use the coolant temp, MAS G/S, and intake air temp mostly.

Hey guys since we are on the subject of datalogging, can one tell the A/F ratios on a 1g with a software? I have mmcd currently but dont see that as an option. thanks for the help 92 tsi awd with datalogging palm m515

@Hideki: where did you get your bluetooth obd2 adapter? are you using the plx one? i have the china ebay one, and it doesn't work on my 2g. any ideas?

Didn't know if this thing was gonna work so I bought a cheapo one from eBay. Just like the one pictured in this thread. I've had it for a while and it's worked fine. Your profile says you have a'95 might not be working cause it's for OBD-II

its very convenient to not have to worry about wires. I still have couple usb scanners, but they're for advanced stuff. like flashing ecu, etc. just checking the CEL and basic monitoring can be done with the bluetooth dongle
